If I swap in the 140mph speedo, what will I need to do. Will the mph/rpm be slightly off. I have the electronic speedo. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Are you switching the complete gauge assembly or just the speedo?

If you are switching the whole thing I belive it should read correctly, since the VSS is sending the same signal to both.

Thanks for the fast response. I am switching the entire thing. Now with the higher rpm reading will my car be safe to rev in that range?

Do you really think your tach has anything to do with the capabilities of your motor???????

I believe he is talking about the higher indicated redline found on the tach in the new cluster. It's only another 500RPM. And just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Why rev that high if you don't make power there?

I know exactly what he was asking. He was asking if it's ok to rev it to 5,500 now that the tach is a different color there.

I pretty much the limits of my engines rpm range. I am planning on doing spring and 1.6rr swap. Just wanted to make sure everything would be ok if I go into the rpm ranges.

But do you understand that it has absolutely NOTHING to do with what tach you're using?

As for whether or not it's "safe", yeah, it should be plenty safe. I doubt that you'll float the valves until 6k rpm or so, but you're going to be completely out of power long before then, so revving it that high before you shift is going to slow you down.

Cool, thanks for the advice.
