They sound the same, it's just a matter of when you hear them. You've probably heard a blower car idle before. It's pretty noticeable. As a comparison, here's a clip of a TT IROC (http://www.quarter-mile.net/video/turboidle.mpg)

You won't hear the turbos until it's too late. ;)

um...superchargers make more of a whinning noise and turbo's have a BOV, plus its more of a spooling sound
right?

The BOV can be added to a supercharger system..not hard. The turbo can have a lag to it, which will make it sound (and feel) like it's rising up. The sound is the same...it's just heard at different times. At idle, you shouldn't hear a properly sized turbo...around 2500rpm or so, look out! Some of the NMCA cars and S2 Buicks tend to sound like a plane taking off.

As for the poll, I like the sound of turbos, but I've been hearing a supercharger for the last 3 years, so it gets a little old. :D
