I just heard that the IHRA was canceled and moved to next weekend. Thats our weekend. Anybody know if the LS1 shoot out is being rescheduled?

This sucks, stupid Texas weather. Also, is the dyno still going even if the shootout doesn't?

We need to know.

It hasn't been cancelled per se but crappy SA Raceway has it on their site that they are taking over. I think there will be a ton of pissed off people if this is true. I've emailed nineball already and let him know. This is really getting under my skin if it's true. If they pull this crap I will never go to SA Raceway again.

It is official, the event has been cancelled for next week-end. Top Dogs get Top Billing.

Tony is in the process of getting responces from us on which date to make it. The 2 dates that are being thrown around are March 16th and April 6th. So if you have a prefrence you better put your .02 cents in.

And yes it does suck, but what can we do? This Texas weather is to blame. Have you ever seen so much rain?

I can see why this event would take priority over ours....this is a big money event for them.

My complaint is the $35 to watch the races....what a rip!!!!

that plus i wish they never raised the prices to run.

I remember when it was only $10 to run on a TnT night. and $5 to watch

Im confused here. What are we talking about? LT1-LS1 shoot-out prices or a National IHRA event?

$15 to race at the track is cheap. Think of all the things that go into making a track good and safe. Now where I would say it it expensive is the $10 the want for someone to go and watch on a TNT night. Now that may be a bit much.

$35 to watch a National IHRA event is expensive:confused: Tickets to go see Metallica in Houston are more than that. Imagine paying the ticket price plus transportation and lodging to say Dallas to wacth an NHRA event or a NASCAR event. Can you say 2 weeks of your paycheck. Heck to get nose bleed seats at the SBC center will cost you about the same.

When you get a sanctioned event to come to a track the tickets are going to be a little more. Heck its only $25 more to watch them than me race on TNT night:D

Now what I dont like is the $50 it costs for the Shoot-Out. Went to Ennis for SLP Day and entry fee was $0...

What I would like to know is has everything been rescheduled? What I mean by that is has the dyno been rescheduled, obviously the party had to be.

But what about the dyno? Nathan, you have any info on this?

ucrazymonkey

The dyno day is NOT rescheduled. Still on for this Saturday. It is a very large shop and if it is raining there is room for at least 5 cars in there besides the car on the dyno.

I will be doing a reply to the dyno day just so folks dont think its canceled.

I was talking about the prices at RCR way back in 2000 when it was only $10 to run on TnT nights, and they track was always prepped much better. When they lost their IHRA sanctioning they raised they prices by $5 respectively and the track prep went down.

The IHRA event was rescheduled due to bad weather. It had to be moved to this coming weekend. Considering the fact that they spent well over 2 million dollars in upgrades to meet IHRA track expectations, you can see why the LT1/LS1 shootout takes a backseat to a "NATIONAL" event.

I'm personally thankful the shootout has been cancelled and will be moved back. I'd like to see it in April or May. Hopefully by then my car will be running. :D If I had to vote on one of the two dates listed above, I'd have to say April 6th. I'll have a chance at making that one!

They have officially announced that it will now be April 6th. Get your car running Bran. I on the other hand just need to get a "car."

Are you kidding me, Ben?! They're STILL screwing you around on your car?! Who is this company again? Everyone needs to know who's doing this to you. That's BS. Man, what is it with people nowadays? I thought you had all of this taken care of. I was under the impression that you got the car back complete. I want an update. E-mail me, call me, post it here, whatever, just give me some specifics.

No, they gave me the impression that they were going to be done with it and they haven't called since or gotten back to me by phone or email. I've finally gotten a lawyer working on the issue as I'm tired of all the BS. I've been nice but they keep pushing my buttons. I'm posting the last letter they sent and have not gotten a reply from them since.

Hey Ben,
Well, I have done everything in my power to try and get your car out this weekend, but I am still waiting on one part for your engine. We should have it Monday and everything should be finished over the next day. We will be working non stop until your car is finished once we have all the parts. I hope that you can understand that this is the best I can offer you. The labor of putting the engine in your car is the only thing that I have direct control over...

The rings! The piston rings that we got were 4.00" rings instead of 4.100" rings for your motor(mistake by manufacturer...). We have them finally and your engine is almost assembled. We will be finish assembling it tonight after dinner and depending on what time we finish we might drop it in the car tonight. That will leave connecting the trans, electric, exhaust, etc. for tomorrow and then check the tune after that. I should be able to call you tomorrow evening with your car running in the background. :)

Might want to hold off on the emails. The shop is in Houston and my lawyer is taking care of it. I don't want anything hurting my case.

Yo, Rat, what are you racing out there? I'll be there all day Saturday. I'll be the one harrassing the Hooter's girls and begging the Pro Mod owners to let me make "just one pass, c'mon, don't be like that, I won't wreck it.........." :D
