I am a owner of a 98 V-6 camaro that is for sale because i am planing on buying an SS. I was looking around and happened to stumble upon a 2000 ss with 29,000 miles on it for less than $15,000! The only problem was that the car didn't have T-tops, and T-tops are a must for me.
So i was wondering if it is at all possible to get after market T-tops installed and how much it would be. If anyone knows anyone or has had T-tops installed on their hard top F body could you let me know the detailes. thanks

The car may be a good deal, but if you've gotta buy it and then sink money into converting it to T-tops, suddenly it's not a good deal. IMO, hold off until you find a car with T's.............I was almost opposed to them when I was first in the market for a new car (after my experience with T-tops in my '81:rolleyes:, which is NO comparison to the new design), but I am so glad to have them now;). I just think the car looks very cool with them out in the summer time, but unlike 'verts, you've still got a full back window, and with the T-bar, there's a little more structural rigidity. Well, that's my $.02:cool:.

only two reasons for owning a 4th gen F-Body are big engines and t-tops

I love my T-Tops. They are hella great. The only time mine leak is when i power wash it at the car wash, and its only a couple of drops of water. I've never had a problem with leaking at times like when it is raining or whatever out. Id go for the buy, and have someone help you do the conversion.

If i were you, I would wait for another one to come along. There are always more out there. I'm the same as you, t-tops are a must for me. And luckily I held off b/c that is how i found my current car. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

I've never had a problem with my stock Tee's........I make sure to treat the striping every year.
Although I can not vouch for the aftermarket one's, my advice to you would be to keep looking for an SS with T-tops. You may have to wait a bit longer and extend your search futher but you may also come across a better deal than you imagine.
Good Luck 2U!:)
