Kurt Ritter, general manager and mountain mover at Chevrolet (he was the guy that got Chevy it's new RWD program, and was the #1 guy working to get Camaro back on the market) is being moved to General Manager of GM's new super division: Buick/Pontiac/GMC.
Brent DeWar is taking Kurt Ritter's role as Gen Mgr of Chevrolet. He is currently General Manager of GMs northeast sales region. I'm just speculating (probally unfairly) that coming from snow country, he won't be as much as a force with RWD as Ritter is. Again, I'm probally being unfair assuming that.
Here's the story:

From GM Media Online
http://media.gm.com/news/releases/030226_vssm_exec_changes.html
Dewar began his GM career in 1978 with GM of Canada, where he held several positions in sales, service, and marketing, and with the financial staff. He joined Chevrolet Division in Warren, Mich., in 1988 as manager of strategic planning, and held various field assignments with Chevrolet throughout the U.S. Dewar was appointed marketing director at GM do Brasil in 1994, and became executive director of sales, service and marketing for GM do Brasil in 1999. He has been regional general manager for the VSSM Northeast Region since April 2000. Dewar received a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA degree from York University as a GM Fellow.
I think he should be okay, Eh! :)
There's nothing in Kurt Ritter's biographical data and GM history that would indicate strong Camaro support so I'll give Brent Dewar the benefit of the doubt ... I'm sure Red Planet will be taking him for a ride in a B4C before long to have a chat :D

As long as he can carry on Kurt Ritter's fight it's cool. Can anyone dig up some info on this guy? Like, what his goals/priorities/philosophies for Chevy are?

:D
I'm not as concerned with the "from the north" comment .... I've never seen a front drive ski doo. I am, however, a little concerned over the following:
"Dewar received a bachelor's degree from the University of British Columbia in English and Languages in 1978 and a master's degree from York University also in English and Languages in 1986."
see http://media.gm.com/news/releases/g000320a.html
Now that scares me .....
See http://www.gm.com/company/gmability/environment/images/trailblazer_hamill.jpg
He is the one to the right ...
I understand he has some connnection to some B4C's provided after 9-11.

So is this a promotion for Ritter? I didn't have an opinion one way or the other when Kurt Ritter came on board....but I've liked what I've seen the past couple of years from him.
And a friendly warning to Mr. Dewar. I'm going to be watching you pal....everything you do, and everything you say. One wrong move.......AND I WILL BE RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
LOL, we all probably will. :D
