My friends just picked up a 97 camaro, 3.8 Liter, wantin to step it up a bit. He is looking for a good performance chip and also some headlight/Tail light blackouts. Any info would be great, thanks!

 

When listed on the board, the headlight/tail covers are cheap..

otherwise, try ebay or summittracing should have them. Lots of people carry them, even your local car parts store.

As for the chip, theres a Jet chip stage 1 and stage 2...

But that chip isnt that great, unless its a pretty stock car, then its not bad if he can find it used. Try camarov6.com or fbodyv6.com to see them for sale cheaper used.

Also www.pcmforless.com will have programming soon, so i'd tell him to hold out until they offer it for the v6...

 

there is no JET chip for the 97 model!..no chip from any company for the 97 model!...sorry!

 

ohh really? i knew the 98+ had them. but i didnt see why they wouldnt...ahhh wait for pcmforless then

 

I did some research over at camarov6.com after i posted this, and found out exacfly what i was told, there is none. I did see where summit had a new product for 2000-2002 3.8's so I dont see whats taking them so long to get one for the older 4th gen 3.8's, oh well, guess he's going to have to wait for it. Thanks.
