how do i purge the schrader valve and where is it
im trying get my car fixed if you have not seen my earlier post im just stuck and i need to get home thats why i need you alls help thanks everyone you have saved me again hope fully this will work
Why are you purging it? If you are going to remove the rails, then open your gas tank and purge it and do it til nothing happens anymore. If you're just bleeding it, I'm not sure what you're supposed to do.
If your the guy that ran out of gas and now the car runs crappy? ! What you want to do is purge the AIR from the fuel line through the schrader valve and be sure there is nothing but fuel with no bubbles in it flowing. Then have your codes reset with a scanner. Doubt you will have one so you will need to get it to a mechanic.
The only way to do this and not toast your A$% is to remove the core of the schrader with a valve tool available at any auto parts store or bicycle shop and hook a tube to the valve and run it into a container. Turn the key on with out starting the engine until the fuel runs without bubbles. You may have to cycle the key on and off a few times and you will need help to do it. Be carful and wear safety glasses.

There are 2 things that can happen when you run out of fuel. 1 is and I don't know why this is but a lot of fuel pumps go bad when the tank is empty. (I guess maybe a heating issue when gas is not there).
The other thing that can happen is just like a water hose disconnected, air gets in the system. Until that air is evacuated, the engine will run lousy. You should get to a point where the bubbles are all gone.
I suppose that if your tank is full and you let it run long enough, the bubbles will work themselves out. I suspect you have computer codes posted since it ran so bad so those have to be cleared. If all is running good though the codes will eventually clear themselves.
If you ran dry, you will want to change your fuel filter which should be changed every 1 to 2 years anyway.
Good luck
