blowing instrument lamp fuse since stereo install

i keep on blowing my dash lights ever since i installed my head unit...i made a wiring harness from the gm one...i have a jvc headunit....i installed it a while ago..im now getting around to fixing it...but...when i turn the lights on i hear a pop and thats the fuse...

whats making it do this?...yes i installed the headunit correctly...its just keeps blowing out the dash lights...

it means that you are probably grounding out somewhere. Check all of your connections again. It's a remote chance, but try another HU and see if it does th same thing. If not, it might be your HU.

sounds like a short or you connected a wire where you shouldn't have. You may have tapped into your dimmer with the wrong wire or something, double check that you've got the switched 12v on the HU connected to the switched 12v in the car and the constant to the constant. Did you try to hook up other things like a dimmer, or illumination wire?

it worked for me i got one that was bigger by 5....
