who's going to work today??

i have decided to be smart and stay home. i woke up around 5:30am and looked out the window and said...forget this!! i'm staying home:D there's got to be at least 2 feet out there:eek:

I was going to... but decided not to cause I'll have to stay here and shovel. My back door is up against a good 4 ft snow drift. I cant see the trash cans any more and the grill is almost completely covered.

This whole thing has me annoyed with work. The bastards will do anything to get around the union rules. They called last night and said it is up to us weather we work or not today. All of our jobs have been canceled but if we want to go in, they will find some work for us in the shop. Just a way for them to not pay us and unofficially tell us to stay home. Oh well, guess I'll have to shovel today:D

my job is open also even though no trucks are leaving the building or coming in...makes a lot of sense!:rolleyes:

i called my job today and told my boss that i was playing it smart and staying home, i don't think he liked that comment but he'll have to get over it.

My company is closed today for President's Day. We almost got 3' here. Snow is up the the rear spoiler. New house with no snow blower. :( Ian had 2 friends stay over last night. I'm gona hand out snow snow shovles and some $$$$$. I'm too old for this crap! I may take a personal day off tommorrow 'cause its still snowing here. What PSI do I set the ET Streets to hook in the snow:confused:

We have today off as a Holiday. I was scheduled to go in for a floating holiday,then some genius decided yesterday they would NOT double up the 4 people that were going in.We all told them forget it,we arent going.

We have over 2' of fresh snow,and 4-5 drifts. I can no longer see the front end of my acclaim,it is now part of a snowbank at the front of my driveway.

Just got in from shoveling... Well, part of it anyway. I just got my truck shoveled out and the front of the driveway open to the street. We have 2-2.5' here and drifts as high as 5 foot too. Taking my lunch break and going back later to try and get to the back of the house. Damn I wish that garage was done.... today would be a good day to spend in the garage working on the car:D.

Hey Eric, tell your boss that Gov. McGreevy said no vehicles on the road unless they are emergency vehicles. They can't dock you for taking a day off when you can't legally be on the road. I hopped in my 4Runner and blasted a path down the driveway and through the pile of snow at the end of the driveway. I told my brother not to bother shoveling since it will start to melt in 2 days.

I need a Job where im not Exempt from the State of Emergencies.
Working for the phone company means i get to drive when noone else can without getting fined....if i going or coming home from work.

i see what your saying jeff but my comapny just does not care..never have never will!!!!!:mad::mad:. i heard from a co-worker that the main boss was upset that people did'nt make it in. you could be on your death bed and you would still get written up for not being there. there excuse is that they have to worry about supplying pharmacy's and hospitals and that there business never closes not matter what, which i find very ignorent!!!!.

I was already off today for President's Day. I'm not so sure that I'll be going in tomorrow either though. The jeep is in the body shop and I have a Malibu rental that will not make it through the 3 feet of snow that the nice snow plows put at the end of my driveway:mad:. If I do go in tomorrow Rick is going to have to drive me.

Worked a 12 hour shift in one ambulance, now I'm crashing for the night at my volunteer squad... let me tell you about the joys of wading through waist deep snow because some girl was having 'really bad menstrual cramps, you know?' or the gentleman who pulled his shoulder muscle shoveling and decided that it needed hospitalization RIGHT NOW. Ben-Gay? No, really, try the Ben-Gay... sigh. Every one of my patients thus far today was healthier than I am, excepting of course the one DOA. Good night, y'all.... some days I get paid to nap the day away, but others I earn my keep....

I took a personal day on Monday... :)

Gotta love military jobs. We don't usually work holidays. That said, I had Tuesday off too!! :D But, I leave for San Antonio tomorrow for a night (darn the luck).

I just want the track to open!!!! My car's buried under the snow, and the new meats on the back (Nitto) are dying to be put to the test!!!!!!
