Side view mirror maintance...

I was adjusting my manual driver side view mirror and then i heard a pop! Now the mirror will only go up and down and it seems to be spring loaded to the far right side (whenever i move it left and right it pushes itself back to the right side) Any suggestions on what this is or how to fix it? THANKS!

Seriously I don't really know what to do with such things but in any case you can probably pick up the new one considerably cheap when somebody parting the car in the "for sale" forum
