Drive my camaro without a torque arm? Too make a long story short, My camaro is sitting in my garage, I just installed a 4th gen rearend. A working t-5 still sits in it, but the Torque arm mount thread is destroyed. Im installing a t-56 and Spohn adj. torque arm. What i basically need to do is move my car to my friends shop(about 15 miles from me) Can i drive it without damaging anything if drven slowly?

I have seen people rig a chain around the trans and crossmember to keep it together. I would make sure the T/A is secured before driving it that far.

The torque arm is the only thing that controls the pinion angle of the rear (keeps it from angling up under acceleration). Without a torque arm, the rear will twist back under any acceleration and may destroy your U-joints. You might make it to the shop, and you might not. If you can bolt it to the rear, and chain in to the tranny tailshaft or crossmember (pad it well and get it VERY tight) then you'll probably be alright. It's definitely gonna be rigged though, so don't be surprised if it makes lots of ugly noises and such.
