I'm trying to find a place on the net to look for a complete crate motor for my camaro v6.. Its got 181,000 miles on the odometer and its startin to wear out. I'd rather just put a new motor w/ a warranty in it than have a mechanic rebuild it. Is there maybe a High Performance 6 cylinder that I could put in? Are there ANY motors that will swap in where my old 6 came out w/out a buncha weldin/choppin?

anyone know where I can find prices for GM crate motors online?
how much would it cost (labor) to have the motor pulled and the new one put in?

http://www.paceparts.com

it would help to know what year F-body you have and which engine? 2.8ltr? 3.1ltr? 3.4ltr? 3.8ltr?

anyways, check out on the left, it will have replacement GM Goodwrench engines, also note the new 2002 LS6 Vette 405hp engine woot woot just a little over $6K

Try looking in the yellow pages for an engine exchange place. They specialize, have nationwide warranties, and usually have GM sixes on the floor so turnaround is quick. Expect to pay three grand, more if your car needs auxillaries like pumps, manifolds, hoses, distributor.

Try www.fparts.us (http://) They have over 200 salvaged 4th gen F-bodies at their yard in Bristol PA and spealize in engines and tranmission dealings. They could probably give you a V6 for a good price that is out of a wrecked car with low miles on it.
