Salad Shooter inside polishing

Has anyone ever hand polished the inside of their "salad" shooter rims to a bright (chrome-like) finish? I presently just treat with Zaino x 3 which keeps them amazingly clear of brake dust ( dirt and grime is not a problem because car have never seen wet weather). These are the dog days of winter and I am looking for a project before winter hiberation ends. If anyone has accomplished this project please let me know how you did it? Products used? Results? Problems? Maintainance?
