how much horse power does a stock 305 ho have ?

 

A 305 HO 4bbl has 190HP

 

LG4 has 165

 

305 High Output L69's from 1983-1986 in F-Bodies had a GM rating of 195 HP @ 4500 rpms and 240 TQ @ 3500 rpms.

 

My 305 tpi had 220 hp and 290 ft/lb stock. The automatic tpi's were all around 190 hp, except for 85, when the auto 305 had around 215.

 

thank tou fo rur help im buying a 85 z28 with a 305 ho and thinking of spraying it does any one think a 150 shot is to much?

 

In theory, people say 150 is too much but since I reall don't care, i've had about 30lbs of nitrous through my 305 at the 150HP level and all is well. Even the transmission whih I thought would be TOAST after the first couple shifts. I reccomend Nitrous Express.

100HP is "supposed" to be the safe limit. 100 HP was fun for sure. I'd suggest trying that first and see if that solves your problem. Headers and a cut-out would help a lot also if you still have a stock exhaust setup. Goodluck
