well I didn't put 4.11's in my car, they came with em when i bought it, but for now im stuck with them. I need to know what i can do, because right now I'm goin through the traps at like 6500+ rpm and thats not cool on a brand new motor, I would like to have it around for a little while. anyone have any suggestions on what to do? is there any way to force the 700R4 into OD?

I would move up to a larger tire, your sig says you have 15's so I think 16's would help some. That's the only thing I can think of besides rear-end/tranny work :)

There's something that can be done to the 700R4 to make it shift into OD at WOT. I can't remember what it was (not to mention I'm not a tranny guy), but I seem to remember it was relatively simple and inexpensive - like a simple mod to the valve body. You may want to try posting this on the 3rd gen board to see what you get.

Other than that, a taller tire will drop the RPM through the traps. With 15" wheels you have a BIG selection of tires - a lot more than for a 16" rim. But then you would have to have your speedo fixed to read right. Good luck.

Don't bother with taking the trans to OD. Just run a taller tire, like a 28".:)
Or run a short tire and drop your rear-end ratio.

in your sig you were complaining about traction and a taller tire will help with that and your rpm's

well it's definatley tire time anyways, I will look into a taler tire for sure, this may also help me get closer to the correct speed. My speedo has always ready about 10k/h over.

Move to a 28" tire. You will need a hacksaw for the rear fender lips. I have MT ET Streets, 28" x 12.5" x 15" mounted on 10" x 15" Cragars with a 6 1/2" offset and the fender lips have been flared one inch to cover the top of the tires. The 12.5 width is a sidewall measurement and will not fit in the wheelwell with a 7 1/2' backspace without some work.
