Black01_Z 02-01-2003, 01:32 AM Brand new I wouldnt pay more than $550 for them, but I wouldnt get another 16 inch wheel. But chrome wheels = chesee48 02-01-2003, 03:24 AM i'd get at least 17 rims...they are WAY better then 16's...trust me...you'll regret it later... get some ZR-1/SS or some 10 spoke SS rims... I agree, I don't know what GM was drinking when they decided to put 16 inch rims on the F-body. 16's just look too damn small on the camaro. psychocabbage 02-01-2003, 03:38 AM you kids and this wheel fetish... I personally dont like the 17's.. I dont see why you need more rubber under the car when 245's do just fine.. More is not better.. Getting the most while using the least is more impressive IMO.. 98whiteZ28 02-01-2003, 03:42 PM well my Z cam stock with the gray 16's, and this lady was having her car takin by the bank and she had a z with the 16 inch chromes on it she said gimme your wheels and 200 bucks and they're yours, and hey they're chrome and look damn good and i mean come on dont tell me you guys would pass up chromes with good year eagles on em that were 2 weeks old for 200 bucks??? huh huh?? hah so see i like my 16's :) cals400ex 02-02-2003, 02:24 AM yeah i don't blame you for picking those up for $200. i would of too. i can get these for $500 but i don't know if i want to spend that for a set of wheels that i don't need. i agree with most of you, i would prefer something a little bigger than 16's. but i talked to the person who has these and he has tires for them too. i don't know what condition they are in but 4 new wheels and 4 tires for $500 may not be a bad deal if the tires are not in bad condition. psychocabbage 02-02-2003, 03:05 AM Originally posted by 98whiteZ28 well my Z cam stock with the gray 16's, and this lady was having her car takin by the bank and she had a z with the 16 inch chromes on it she said gimme your wheels and 200 bucks and they're yours, and hey they're chrome and look damn good and i mean come on dont tell me you guys would pass up chromes with good year eagles on em that were 2 weeks old for 200 bucks??? huh huh?? hah so see i like my 16's :) explain to me how a car gets repoed after 2 weeks? 98whiteZ28 02-03-2003, 04:59 PM umm psyco cabbage the cars a 98 the TIRES were 2 weeks old.. :) Ryuhei 02-03-2003, 05:33 PM Get them, for that price, get them. cals400ex 02-03-2003, 06:23 PM i just don't know what i can get out of my eagle alloys. i may get them. Flat_Tire_ 02-03-2003, 07:37 PM Anyone know of any companies out there who buy used wheels? Say a set of 16x8 Chromes ... ;) I'm looking to buy a set of ROH Snypers 17x9 and want to save some money. blu94Z 02-04-2003, 02:17 AM OK, Maybe someone will give a straight answer on this; will a different wheel size from stock void the warranty? I've had a couple of people on this board tell me that it would. About a month ago, I bought four brand new Eagle F1s (275/45/17) for my '02 Z28 which came with 16" wheels for only $400! I posted this under the LS1 forum when I found out the deal, but only one other person I know of took advantage of the deal. Once bought, I believed that my decision to mount 17x9.5 inch TTIIs on the car was made. However, I've heard from a couple of members of this board that different tire size from stock will void the warranty on the car. My car has only 15,000 miles on it, and to void the warranty now would not be worth the new wheels. Also, worse than just the powertrain warranty, would doing this also void ALL the warranties, including rust-through and emmissions? If so, I would sell the tires I have now and buy the wheels at a later time or just forget the whole thing. However, I do think polished TTIIs would look SWEET! Steve dkeers 02-04-2003, 02:48 PM They would have to prove that the new wheels caused whatever damage you are making your claim. No mod can ruin your entire warrenty. They can deny a single claim only if the new part caused another factory part to fail. Obviously GM would not honor a warrenty on the actual wheels also. I think the changing wheels voiding warrenty rumor comes from full size trucks. Many people will put huge tires on their new truck, and this is very hard on steering components. When the power steering goes out, the warrenty is denied on that part. SEMA has fought hard for these laws to be upheld. http://ls1info.com/article.php?sid=9 Z-Attitude 02-04-2003, 04:43 PM I don't see how the Goodyear F1's 275/45-17 could void your warranty. They came on the SS and they are the same diameter as the original 245/50-16's. As long as the rims have the same back-spacing as the stock ones they can't use that for an excuse. I just put the 10 spoke SS rims on my '02Z with less than 7k. I'll bet my dealer dosen't even relize they were change when I bring it in. Later>>>>>>>>>>> | ||
