Edelbrock Nitrous Kit

I'm looking at a nitrous kit this spring. Now, all I want is a small shot like a 75 then work up to a 100 shot (although I might want to upgrade to a 150 shot in the far, far future). The 355 I am running right now has about 6500 miles on it, and has flat top pistons (it was balenced and blueprinted also). I know the bottom end can handle 100 shot. Is the Edelbrock Performer Nitrous Kit (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=25227&prmenbr=361) kit any good; the only reason I was looking at it is because it comes with 50, 75, and 100 HP shot jets (which are the levels I want to start and progress to). I was also looking at the NX Hitman Kit (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=103154&prmenbr=361) but the lowest HP shot it comes with is a 100 shot. What do yall guys think?
Thanks
Brady

stik6shift00: why give you opinion on something you know nothing about?

brodyscamaro: both kits are good. all kits give you the option to change hp settings. that should not be the only factor in choosing a kit. the edelbrock kit does have some advantages over other kits:
1 pre terminated wire harness
2 cnc machined stainless steel jets
3 knock sensor bypass
4 blow down tube

just to name a few

I'd personally stick with a proven kit, like NX or TNT. But that's my money, so I'd rather not take chances.

But 75-100 shot....why so freaking SMALL? I know a lot of L98/LT1/LS1 guys with stock shortblocks running 150 shots safely.

I'd assume with your 355 you went with forged rods and pistons....you should be good for well over 150 shot with that, even with a stock cast crank and 2-bolt mains. Much past 150 I'd step up to a direct-port setup, and of course you want to make sure your fuel system is up to par.

Well, I know a 100 HP shot is considered pretty small. I dont have forged rods or pistons :( :o

I have been toying with the idea of going to a 150 shot, but I would really love to start with a 50 or 75 shot. So, since the kits are both priced about the same, how much would jets cost for the NX kit to have a 50 and/or 75 shot? Although, obviously, the NX kit has a better name how good are Edelbrock kits?
Thanks
Brady

jets are the most inexpensive part of a n2o kit. depending where you are you will pay $4-$5. when nx was new nobody thought they were any good until people used them & found out it was a good kit. buy the edelbrock kit how can you go wrong it is edelbrock for god sake. they are 1 of the best high performance company in the world. if the kit was called mickey mouse then i would have doubts. by the way i met the designer of the edelbrock kit & he has been using & designing n20 kits for a long time. trust edelbrock they know what they are doing.;)

964MLA do you know the name of the guy at Edelbrock that you talked to? Just wondering because at least four (maybe 5) of the guys in Edelbrocks nitrous department came from NOS. Just curious which one you talked to.

Actually Holley owns NOS. ;)

Regardless, I've heard nothing but good things about the Edelbrock systems. I have never dealt with them personally, but those that have, are doing significantly more complicated things then the typical LT1 System, and I'm a believer in Trckledown technology. If a company's product does well on the race scene, then more times then not you'll have alot of those benefits in the Sportsman type products.

Ok, my setup is in the first link in my sig. I dont have any AC components of heater compenents and can remove the subs for racing times. That will give ya a little bit better idea of my weight. What do yall guys think i will run NA, on a 50 shot, on a 100 shot, and on a 150 shot (all shots spraying in second and third gear). I know you hate these questions, but I am looking for all the advice I can get. Not to mention the local track is 2+ hours away so I cant go to run my car anytime soon:(

Help/advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Brady
