86T/AWS6 01-27-2003, 08:05 PM i have a 95 Z28 M6 with almost 90,000 mi. on the clock. i was thinking about for my Bday buying myself a NX wet kit with the Genx 2 accessory kit. would it be smart of me to start spraying my 90,000 mile motor??? how many has had succes with this kit and do you like it? How are results? and how do you think my bottom end will hold up to 100-125 shots with that many miles on the clock. Thanks Guys
texlurch 01-27-2003, 08:39 PM Does it use any oil? Smoke at all? Spray + oil = KABOOOM!!!
Your best bet would be to take the money and buy a nice set of forged pistons and rings, maybe a small cam, and freshen up the motor.. THEN add a 150 shot or so..
Kinda depends on if you want to keep the car, because when it goes *BANG* if will definately cost more to replace the broken rods and cracked block.
But it is your money! :D

hey man! i dont use that kit, BUT i starting spraying my mostly stock 96 Z at about 93k miles and have had ZERO problems. i would say, stick with a 100 shot if you just want to have some extra insurance and have some fun on the street. a 150 would be ok, and i know people running that shot all the time, but i would save the 150s for special occassions:D
your bottom end shouldnt have any problems holding the power. like TEXLURCH said though, make sure you dont have any little leaks other minor problems before you add the juice. no point in ASKING for more problems;)
you WILL in time however, need to do a rebuild of the moter to just freshen it up after using the spray. that really depends on YOU, how much you spray and how often. things like rings and such will need to be replaced. some people can go a couple+ years before freshening up the motor, and others do it yearly. like i said, alot has to do with the user.
now that you know this, if you dont want to set aside a little $$ or just dont want or like the idea of having to do a minor rebiuld down the road, your best bet is not to add it.:)

rpm4lalo 01-28-2003, 06:33 PM I am almost at 100,000 miles. And I decided to keep it on the car and just stick with the 100 shot, when I have the funds ready to do a complete rebuild, I will start upping the shot.
86T/AWS6 01-29-2003, 01:27 AM yea i dont think i would cause myself a rebuild real soon, the main reason i want the juice is for the ocasional 1/4 mile run just for the heck of it...i wouldnt use it on the street since i already learned my lesson with that by racing my friend that has a cobra and got caught doing 115 in a 55, reckless driving, and racing on highways:( ...so those days are well behind me. but say i spray it a few times at the track like once a month,,,do you think that would be to bad for a stock 90,000 mile bottom end?...also i went 13.76@101.5 dead stock, if i use the 100 or 125 shot what kind of times could i expect???...again thanks so much guys for the info

like i said before, your bottom end shouldnt be a problem. as far as what youll pick up, well, for my car, i ran a best of 13.62 @ 102 bone stock. with the WRONG JETS in, about a 50-60 shot, i ran a 12.7 @ 110 spraying about 150ft out and spinning pretty bad. with a real 100 shot, im hoping for low 12s MAYBE high 11s. with the 150s, i think 11s wont be a prob. that should give you some idea of what yours might run.

Sax1031 01-30-2003, 11:23 AM I have a friend that has a 93 LX 5.0. When it had 130,000 miles on it, he put a supercharger at 9 lbs of boost on it. Now with over 140,000 he put some gas on it too. So I am sure your motor can hold up.
