Nitto 555R Drag Radials Vs Road race tires ???

What's the difference between the Nitto 555R Drag Radials & the 555R II Extreme??

Discount tire's description only says that the 555RII is a road racing version of the drag radial, with stiffer side walls.

Will the Drag radial hook up noticably better than the road race tire?

I'm guessing they'll wear about the same since they're both rated as 100 tread ware.

Only difference I can see is that the drag radial is rated to 149 mph, and the Road race ones are rated as W or Y rated.

Not sure of the difference in these two tire. I would assume that the stiffer side wall of the road race tire would hurt traction at the drag strip.

I have the Nitto Drag Radials (275/40/17). They hook great at the track (when the track is prepped well) and are great on the street. I have put just over 15,000 miles on the tires and they are not down to the wear indicators yet.
