damn.. it would be really cool to be able to see pics from the factory interior on the last day of production.. I'm sure there will be some media events but I'm talking some behind the scenes and secret off-limits areas..

Nope. There are no media events at Ste. Therese or I'd know about it. The mood among the CAW union will be sour to say the least. GM probably doesn't want the media around--it would be like throwing a lit match on a puddle of gasoline. Furthermore, I wouldn't want to buy one built the last week of production. It wouldn't suprise me if the defect rate went way up towards the end.

I hope not. I have one on order that is supposed to be built the week of August 19th. Hmmm -- I wonder what I have to look forward to?

I don't believe there be any problems like workers dropping a wrench in a door etc. or any poor workmanship. I bet the last of the F-Bodies will be some of the best buily, I believe the workers there have more honor and respect than that.
I am puzzled that GM is'nt having any media or final ceramony. I remember they went pretty much all out when the B-Bodies ended in '96. There was a huge ImpalaSS convention at the Arlington Texas plant. Then GM anounced that the plant would continue production another 5 months to fill a rash of Caprice 9C1 orders to all the police departments that went crazy. before the retooling would begin to produce trucks at the plant. I still think it was a big mistake for GM. But trucks are huge moneymakers for GM.
