Shelf life of DR's & slicks?

I'm thinking about getting a pair of salad shooters & drag radials or slicks. Since I only drag race once every couple months, these would sit in my garage or storage shed most of the time.

In the summer here in Phoenix, my garage easily hits 110+, and we can have 100 consecutive days of 100+ degree weather--would this affect shelf life?

How long would they stay sticky? A year, or much more? It would probably take me a couple of years to wear them out.

It's direct sunlight that wreaks havoc on slicks. Just keep them covered, they should be fine. It will take a couple of runs and burnouts to get them to their stickiest. If anything, they get better with age. Skip the DR's and get ET streets if you'll only be racing once in a blue moon. The traction is unbelieveable.

ET Streets and slicks arfe essentially the same except for a few miniscule grooves in the Streets. And they are both an order of magnitude better than DRs!

I have ET streets and they sit in the garage all summer and do just fine, just don't let the sun get to them!

Sounds like I'm going to get a set of ET Streets since I'm buying something exclusively for track duty and the 10 minutes it takes me to drive to the track.

I'm getting a new clutch in about a month, then after that it's time for slicks. Roll bar will go in later this year.

I would say to go with the ET Streets. My drs didn't last to long anyways. I had BFG Drag Radials and they would not hook and had horrible tread life. Now that is not to say they can't be good. Their is a guy that gets 1.29 60ft times on Drag Radials that have to be less than 13inches wide, he also runs low 8s@~170mph.
