i came across this site the other day from this guy in cali. hes in a club over there. anyway, i went to the part of his site that talked about him drag racing when he first got the car and as he modded it.

well, he claims, that his 97 Z28 CONVERTABLE M6 that he bought brand new in 96, ran a 13.7 @ 111 two months after he bought it. have you EVER heard of a stock LT1 trapping 110+. NO SIR! LS1s dont even trap that stock. and this guy has a convt!!! the only convertable ive ever seen at the track was a 95 A4, which was bone stock and ran low15s/ high 14s at around 97-99 all night. i fail to see how 10 more acclaimed hp and 2yrs is going make up for that much difference??

what do you think??

No farggen way!

My '97 Z28 M6 Ragtop ran ~14.3@98 stock

Of course, a lot of people have a pretty funny definition of what "stock" is

I agree...:bs: My '95 z wiht just a flowmaster and eibach pro kit springs ran a 13.9 @ 101 on street tires. I thought that was BADASS. There is no way that he trapped 111 with a stock '97 convertable.

High 14's low 15's That has to have alot to do with the driver . Even when my 95 convert was bone stock I was running 14.2 @ 98 mph . But to answer you're question I've never seen a convertible nor a hard top trap 111mph being bone stock .

I agree, its :bs:. My car bone stock went 14.0x-14.1x @99-100. But you have to remember there are all types out there. If a leaf blew across the beams and gave him that time on his slip... then you know just as well as I do that the car HAD to actualy run that time;).

You know my car ran a 9.18 @ 265 this past summer... The funny thing is that I was just past the 1/8 when I saw the time on the board:D:D. So it has to be true... I saw it with my own eyes;) The only thing that really sux is that I unfortunatly broke out on that run by just a little bit, LOL.

ben, i just wondered why you were running such a low compression on your 383? did you build it for forced induction?

Either that or when he did his burnout, he didn't stop the car to stage, he just kept going. If thats possible:)

I've seen a chic in a Z28 do that once but there was no time on the scoreboard.

Bad95z28- It was built for force induction . I have a T-trim running 12.85psi . I'll have dyno#'s in a couple weeks .

13.7 @ 111 mph :bs: Here in lubbock, TX, most stock LT1s run 14.7 or so thanx to our lovely air.....and mine ran a 14.07 with K&N FIPK, and cutout.........which i thought was incredible for my car at a track where most LT1s barely break 14s...........he has to be goin on g-tech.......g-tech said i ran a 7.94 @ 170!!!!!

We all know that is :bs:

Just to mess with the guy I would tell him he can't drive. I would say I am not supprised he ran 111 MPH but his ET should have been in the low 12's.

You'd be supprised how quick people change their story when you go along with the BS and blame them personally for the other numbers that don't match.

He could sincerely think his car runs that. There is a track here that is always about 8 mph high in the 1/8th. A local mustang boy here said his car runs 89mph in the 1/8th, I laughed my ass off, cause I blister him every time we race, and I only trap 82. He showed me his timeslip. Sure enough, it was a 8.9 @ 89. There is also a WRX around here that ran a 9.3 @ 88 at the same track. Yeah, those times are reeeeaaall accurate.

this story kinda reminds me if a kid that had a 86 iroc with a stock 305 tune port that he swore ran around 13 sec in the 1-4.i never seen him at the track with that car but he took the engine out and put it in a 71 chevelle and barely broke 15 sec.my freinds suburu beat it .

brain- Is the track you are referring to in Elgin? I laughed the first time I ran their with slicks. Timeslip said like 98mph, I was like man that looks good but no way in heck am I going that fast through the eigth. At Darlington my car usually stays around the 89-90mph mark in the eigth. The elapsed times are the same for me at Darlington or Elgin track but the mph are about 7-8mph off.

What does the mustang look like? What is the dude's name? I might know him.

Its a 95 Gt, dark green. Its got a good bit of mods but doesnt run like it should. (like I think it should). His name is Danny. I think he's trying to sell the car right now too.

LMAO! i've seen a guy in an 80s monte carlo launch in reverse, he then dropped it in drive and roasted one tire past the 60 foot mark. The sad thing, he did that twice, and he also launched by just flooring it, roasting one tire most of the way down the track. the worst part, his car ran 17s i think. wish i have my camera for that.

I have a friend that I know that spent all this money to get his car ready for drag. Suspension and motor work. Well the first time he went to the track the lights fell and he just sat their. We had to run beside him, behind the railing of course, and yell and motion him to go while the other guy he was lined up against was going down the track. It was so funny. His reaction time was a 7.0 something.
