Ok, i've looked in your forum, and you guys seem helpful.
Well i got a big list of problems on my 1983 Camaro Z28 305(carb).(just got it today)
1.Electronic buzz/beep when you push on gas sometimes(usually around 60km/h)
2.Pulls to the right a great amount(tires r kinda bad, that thats prob it)
3.Lights very dim(interior)
4.Only Spedo and Oil temp work, not sure of gas, but rpm and battery dont work
5.Transmition kinda clunks when you put it in drive.

And where's the fuse box!!!???

Please help guys :(

1. The only thing I could say is check your wiring. There may be a short crossing or something.

2. Probably tires. If not then alignment. If not then check your brake power booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve.

3. You may have old bulbs. You may need to make a reconnection or something. Mine isn't all that bright either but I don't worry about it. Check your battery/alternator also.

4. Check your wiring. Maybe a bad sending unit for fuel and the others. Don't know much.

5. uh if it "clunks" when you give it gas, it could be a broken transmssion mount. That's what mine does for now.

Fuse panel is on the bottom left side down to the left of the brake pedal on the drivers side

Definitely sounds like a short or open circuit. Keeping it simple, start with cleaning and stripping the connections at the battery. I recently had an intermittent surge in all the gages and lights. Turned out to be too much build up on the cable ends themselves. After scraping all the corrosion off to the bare metal it ceased.
The fuses are under the dash, on the left by the hood release, facing down. It is hinged so it will swing down facing you.
Bad connections at the starter/selenoid are also a likely source.

As for the pulling, I think the only way to get a tire to do that is run real low air pressure or different diameter. I'd look towards the alignment, and then possibly brakes. Pulling will be worse while braking also if the wheel alignment is off. A bad caliper, clogged rubber hose to caliper can also cause this.

Thanks you guys for the help, so far i got all the guages working, the fuses just needed changing of course.
Next step is checking the spark plug for the acceleration delay, i know for fact that a cylinder is misfiring so ya. Anyways keep them tips comming! Thanks again!
**New problem...FN WINDOW SMASHED WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR!!!

Im not to knowledgeable in the electric sources of the cars however I have a signifigant amount of knowledge on tranny problems. I would definetly say that the "clunk" is probably the tranny mount. You can pick one up from a local dealership fairly cheap and for a 3rd gen its easy installation if you can squeeze under the car ;) . On a lesser scale its a possiblilty that it could be the mount for that tortion bar that comes from the rear end and connects to the end of the tranny, if that mount for that is bad then when you put the car in gear it will slam the floorboard of the car.

Actually the "clunk" that is heard when you put the car in gear is your torque arm bushing. Its shot and needs replacing. Mine does it too, and so do many many others. Go to www.thirdgen.org (http://www.thirdgen.org) and look up EBMiller88. He did a whole write up with pics on how to change it out. I plan on doing mine sometime next month.

Most of the time when I run across a "clunk" when changing gears, it's a "U-joint" in the drive shaft, or a high idle combined with excessive backlash(wear) in the rear gears.
When my trans mount was bad mine clunked on abrupt acceleration after it was already in gear.(under a load)"In my experiences, anyways."

I would have to agree with afast83z28 on most of them but on the Trans clunking when you put it in drive...U-joints bad. If it does it on accel than bad trans mount also but when you put it in drive and it clunks thats a bad u-joint could be a bad torque arm bushing but I'm willing to bet that if they are the original u-joints
thats your problem.

Ha wow, lots of replies, that rocks. Well the shattered window kinda stunted down my repairs. Has anyone else every shut their door then the glass shattered!!!! like wtf!!!
Got any suggestions on how to stop this from happening again....?
Im going to get a hefty list of repairs from a mechanic shop and see what I do from there. I may be a former 3rd gen owner;)
Anyways thanks again.

Wow, your window busted just from shutting the door?
Sounds like someone had the door apart and mis-adjusted the stops. On the traks there is an adjustment on our doors for the window height at each end, I can't remember specifically what it looked like. But my wife locked her keys in her Camaro and the Police could'nt "jimmy" it, so it was cheaper(here) to break it than pay a locksmith. So I had to put in a $45 junkyard replacement and readjust the height at each end.(power drivers side window)
But I didn't think there was enough adjustment to allow it to ride high enough on the seal to break if slammed.
Maybe it was tilted rearward and hit the "B" pillar??

not to change the subject, but those cop's must have been dumb as hell.
these cars have got to be the easest cars to break into. I dont know how many times I locked the keys in my 85 firebird and poped the lock with a wood saw.

I know I've locked my keys in and popped the lock with a coathanger a couple times. Must've REALLY been some stupid cops.
