JakeRobb 10-25-2009, 08:22 PM Every one of these entries has something I like. :) Mudbone gets my vote, but sadida011 would have if he had made the top ten. Nice work to both of you.
speeding2fast2c 10-25-2009, 08:39 PM There's a few NON-running Camaros in there........
Congrats to all of the top ten, all very nice photos!!!
350350 10-25-2009, 08:52 PM I'm way too old to be distracted by eye candy so those were nice to look at but I didn't vote that way.
Struggled between the old Camaro in the woods and the garage scene, but I liked the garage scene, I can smell the engine oil and grease and feel the 'late night wrench fest' just looking at the picture so I voted for that one.
All good stuff though!!!
Lisa831 10-26-2009, 12:47 AM I voted for bkwagonss because I'm starving and that pizza looks delicious. ;)
Good job everyone!
sadida011 10-26-2009, 01:49 AM Ahh so close maybe next year ! :thumb: It was just as fun to see the boys get covered in pizza after their bath. The wife wasn't a happy camper. But the boys had a blast.
Bones3180 the story behind the picture . love it. you got my vote!
Bones3180 10-26-2009, 02:03 AM Had to vote for myself, so I could at least get one. Thanks for picking me guys, I feel very honored just to be nominated with these other great contestants (I've been practicing my acceptance speech for the Oscar that I'll never win, so I might as well use it here).
Just to remind the other voting public of the story behind my picture.
From the original post;
"I've been working in New Orleans since March, tracking my Camaro order in Los Angeles for a while. It's finally there and waiting for me, but since I won't be home to get it before the contest ends, I've been carrying around the Camaro Z28 pdf since the contest was announced. And FINALLY, after a night of imbibing, as I was stumbling home from the world famous Bourbon Street, I literally almost fell over this sweet orange Camaro, handed my buddy the camera and snapped this one shot."
P.S. I'm still stuck here in New Orleans, while my Camaro sits in a garage in California with only 215 miles on it that I drove from the dealership to my parents house. I'd love to be a big winner and put whatever I win on as my first mod. Help a guy out, and vote for me! Thanks. - Bones3180
ChrisFrez 10-26-2009, 06:04 AM A big congrats to all those who made the finalists. :) It was hard to pick this top 10, as there were so many deserving pictures.
May the best Camaro win! :)
ZGOBYBY 10-26-2009, 08:18 AM One vote for CR97WS6... that is just completely a classic picture... something you don't see everyday! MikeGyver almost got my vote, because I love turbo.
psychocabbage 10-26-2009, 09:28 AM Chick on a camaro should win this easy.. Its the only one with skin showing..

- A Camaro. Must be a real drivable Camaro, not a toy or another picture of a Camaro.
My Camaro is a real life car I promise. That sentence implies that you use a real car, not that the car must be drivable at the moment the photo was taken ( but I did drive it into the garage at the begining of that day). :cz28:

This is what I was talking about:
1. Print out the PDF file of the CamaroZ28.Com logo that is attached to this very post. If you cannot download it, you need to be logged in to your CamaroZ28.Com account. Don't have one? Get one here!
2. Take a digital picture. The picture must have the following elements in it to qualify...
- The printed PDF of the CamaroZ28.Com logo mentioned in step 1 above
3. Upload the image to your photo gallery in your CamaroZ28.Com account. Every CamaroZ28.Com account has a free gallery, click here for more information on how to upload images to it!
MikeGyver 10-26-2009, 02:48 PM Oh, since I don't have a printer, I asked the admins about using my laptop and they approved it (look in original thread).
Outrun 10-26-2009, 02:54 PM Gotcha! ;)
The Dark Knight 10-26-2009, 04:22 PM Voted for link!
LT1Powered85Z 10-26-2009, 04:49 PM This is funny. The highest quality and most well composed photo submitted didn't even make the top 14. :bs:

Sadida, you're my hero! Thanks!
I put the chick in the bikini into first. No where's my noodz?
CR97WS6 10-26-2009, 06:45 PM As for mine, it is driveable, if it is on a trailer, not under its own power! This car may be moving under its own power with in a few years though. It sound like it's going to be coming out of the woods next spring!! Thanks for all the votes guys, I tried real hard to be original and I figured that there weren't many people with a 69 Camaro hidden in the back 40!!

I especially like the fact you made the logo look weathered. That was a nice touch. :thumb:
purplezgirl 10-26-2009, 09:45 PM The definition of a DRIVEABLE Car is, "the act of operating or porpelling a motor vehicle". If a car has to be trailered or is in pieces, it is not drivable. You cannot get in it, turn the key and go.
Although there are a lot of very cool pictures in the top 10 (including the 69 in the woods and the turbo car).... some of the rules have been broken. If this was a contest on the admins favorite pictures, then ok, but there were rules and EVERYONE should be made to follow them or be disqualified.
Wingboy_97 10-26-2009, 09:49 PM :thumb:All great pics.

Technically it is driveable.... It will roll down the hill!!:D
JasonD 10-26-2009, 09:58 PM I wrote the rules and what I meant by "driveable" was that it had to be a real, full size car. This was to keep people from using model cars, toys, etc. but had to use an actual full-size automobile. Which is why I followed with "not a toy or another picture of a Camaro.".

I am not sure why you are so concerned?! Hmmm... anyways, the admins on this site were kind enough to create the contest, spend funds, and award people prizes. This contest lives and dies by their choices. Thanks for putting the contest on! I agree with the concept of the contest and the pictures that were choosen.

 Thanks guys!
Although the number of votes from people joining after 10/25 with zero posts is worry some.

Sounds like it's turned into the typical 'popularity contest'.
Maybe the admins should consider disqualifying all voters with less than 20 posts or something.

No problem. I honestly don't see what the problem is if that person doesn't even have a picture in the contest, nor entered one. But oh well. Anywho... I have been on this site for almost 5 years now and am kicking myself in the butt for not entering since I do own a couple Camaros myself. Had some good ideas, but I didn't get around to it.

Hey Jason, thanks for the clarifacation. I guess that there are a lot of us who should have asked for clarifacation during the contest. I am not the only one who thought that the pictures had to include a drivable camaro.:thumb:
There's a few NON-running Camaros in there........
I voted too. Awesome contest guys!! No offense to Mike Gyver, but how did he make it as a finalist when he didn't follow the rules?
ZGOBYBY 10-27-2009, 02:21 PM I didn't say that it wasn't a great contest with really cool prizes, I just think that if rules are made they should be followed. There are a lot of very cool pictures that didn't even make the top ten. There was obviously a misunderstanding in the rules by many more people then myself.
As far as not entering a picture.... that was by my own chioce. Just as you choose not to enter one. I am entitled to state my opinion even if I am not in the contest. Not really sure why YOU are concerned either????
I leave the monitoring and appropriation of the contest to the website administrators. I am not checking to see if people follow the rules. As someone who lives and dies by rule-following everyday at my job, if "big brother" makes a decision, it's their decision.
I'm out on this. I'm sure people can figure out what's up here.
Mayhoffer 10-27-2009, 02:49 PM Quit your whining, They should have made a rule against cars that are cloned, the others are real Stop acting like a 3 year old.
Autojunkie 10-27-2009, 03:39 PM Wow.. A toss-up between Mudbone and CR97WS6. CR97WS6 looks the coolest, but Mudbone get's kudos for the girly-girl in the hood (whew).
hibrianmichelle 10-27-2009, 08:55 PM I vote for cr97ws6
bkwagonss 10-28-2009, 07:26 AM Wow, Top Ten, I can't believe it.
When I went up to Papa Johns to get the pizza, I asked one of the guys working there to take a picture of me holding the pizza in front of my car and the store.
He took three pictures, but when I got home none were on the camera.
He must have not pushed it down all the way or not waited long enough.
So I took a picture of the pizza and the car in my front yard.
The neighbors must have thought I was was nuts!
It was a goofy picture, but Jason and Chris said everyone who enters gets a prize, so I threw it up there!
And thanks to the couple of people who voted for me.
That was even more of a surprise considering mudbone's picture.
linkwpc 10-28-2009, 05:17 PM Hey guys! I just want to talk a little about my picture. My picture is the one with lots of 5th gens. This was a camaro event that happend in July in Torrance, CA. We had 32 New camaro there and had lots of fun! So I thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of it with the z28 logo on it. But of course you cannot fit all 32 camaros in the pictures. So I got what I could... But its all about the camaros!!! Not just skin :P
mudbone 10-28-2009, 07:08 PM ... But its all about the camaros!!! Not just skin :P
I'm sorry, but I feel that I must respond to this comment.
I believe that we all are aware that it is very common within the Hot Rod community to have pictures of attractive women posed with good looking cars. My picture was created in that spirit. Krissy (the "model") is a friend of my son's who agreed to participate in the contest in the true spirit of "Photo Fun". If you check out the album photos, you can see that we were having a great time in the August heat (I wish I had some of that now). Sure she's attractive, but please be careful not to demean her in any way.
Thanks.
5thgencrazy68 10-28-2009, 11:57 PM Looks like it is between Mudbone and CR97WS6.
All of them are great photos, but there can
only be one :)
JasonD 10-29-2009, 07:38 AM Well...sorta...we do have some cool other prizes as well. :D
JasonD 10-29-2009, 10:08 AM Interesting how the voting is going, for sure.
To answer a couple of questions that have been thrown at me. All prizes including the "honorable mentions" prizes will be sent out after the contest is over and all winners/prizes are declared. As far as all of the premium memberships to those who participated, I hope to get to those before the end of this weekend, I am a touch tied up getting ready for SEMA this week.
If anyone has any other questions, feel free to PM me and vote if you haven't already.

Hear, hear! My wife is heavily involved in our daughter's sports, she's a greeter at our church, and she has huge fun dressing up for grins. It's great for her self image, to go "over the top" hot.
It's not "just skin." She gets more out of our SS than I do, and she's great with her Mustang. She's not just a model, she's a driver. Hot cars have gone with hot girls for a long, long time. She shoots better than I do, too. You should see her "gun girl" pics! It's OK if your wife shoots better, if you taught her how...

JasonD 11-04-2009, 12:28 PM Please be respectful and honest about it as anything that looks "peculiar" or questionable as far as the voting will be investigated.
I feel the need remind everyone of this. It is good to spread the word to grow the communtiy or interact with the members here, but don't tell your grandmother or neice or UPS guy to sign up for an account here just to vote knowing they will never come back.
We will try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but at the same time if there is any hint of foul play we will have to check into it. If someone has a large amount of votes from new members who just signed up, voted and has zero posts, etc., we may have to make adjustments to the poll outcome if we feel it will keep things fair and honest. Any indication of fraud will be immediately disqualify the entry. It will really suck for us to have to do that so please don't give us the idea that we will need to. If anyone has a "confession" or needs something clarified or altered regarding their votes because this was not completely understood, please PM me and I will be happy to take care of it.
We are just offering this contest as a cool way for everone to get involved with the Camaro and each other and have some fun while winning a few prizes. If you cheat the system, it hurts the giver more than it helps the taker and we'd like to feel comfortable about doing a contest like this in the future.
Again, we thank everyone for remaining fair and honest.

Gentlemen and Ladies,
All this talk about the "less than 20 posts should be disqualified" nonsense. If that's the case then I can't vote for myself. Nor could my dad vote for me nor my wife. If I can quote from podcast #216 "We encourage people to get the word out, to try to get people to vote for your car." It was in this spirit that I tried to get a bunch of friends and family to vote for me, as I am still "new" to the site and haven't built up many relationships here yet.
That being said, I won't actively pursue any further votes than the ones I've already emailed and I'll let the chips fall where they may. I guess I got caught up the "competition" aspect of the contest. That being said, any cool Camaro schwag I get is totally appreciated, so good luck to my fellow contestants, and thanks to Chris and Jason for pulling together such a great sponsor list to donate all the cool prizes.
Judd (aka Bones3180)
P.S. any of you multi-number posters who haven't voted yet and want a new friend for life. . . VOTE FOR ME!!!! :D

Well I understand your competitive nature, I don't really agree with your motives. This is NOT a popularity contest, and in no way should it matter how new or old you are to this forum. Heck, most people on here have never met eachother because people are from all over the country and elsewhere. This is simply a PHOTO contest and that is how people should be voting. Vote for the best taken picture, most creative picture, or however else you want to judge the PICTURE.
I don't think it is right to encourage people to sign up (aka friends and family) just to help you get more votes. Most of those people will probably never visit back to this site because they are probably not CAMARO ENTHUSIAST!
IMO: The top ten photos should have been put up with the names (Screen Names) removed. That would have help a little.
If you are not getting the votes you want, then next time you should maybe put a little more thought into the picture that you are taking. I mean, it's not like the admin here didn't give everyone MORE than enough time to get entries in. There were alot of people that had their photos in before the first real due date.

If you are not getting the votes you want, then next time you should maybe put a little more thought into the picture that you are taking. I mean, it's not like the admin here didn't give everyone MORE than enough time to get entries in. There were alot of people that had their photos in before the first real due date.
*Sigh* Sadly, this goes on all the time on different forums, especially when big ticket items are to be won. You cannot trust people to go on the honor system, as that is what the admins were hoping for.
Just out of boredom, I went through linkwpc's votes, as he's currently in the lead. Outside of 9 votes, all the other votes were members who registered after this thread was made - just to vote.
Chris and Jason, you guys are nice enough to give away such awesome prizes, and nothing gets me more angry when people take advantage/abuse the system. IMO, I think all votes should be removed with registration dates after this thread was made.

You have no idea where these votes are coming come. But I do and now Jason knows. How do you know that my votes are not from camaro enthusiast? There other websites about camaros that people are in and they happen not to be in this one. Just because they are new, do not mean they are not camaro enthusiasts... Also they should be counted. Just because they do not wish to post here, does not mean they should not vote....

You're right. I don't know where those votes are coming from, but from an outsider looking in, it looks as though you're campaigning for votes.
I'm glad that Jason knows...
Z28Nut 11-05-2009, 02:27 PM While it was a lot of fun going out and taking pics for this contest, I am very disappointed in the results with the voting 'situation'. Should have known from the "Help my baby win this photo contest" & etc. threads in the lounge . . .
I am no longer disappointed that my photo didn't make the final cut. I feel for the guys that made the effort to set up their shots. It's sad that the effort is wasted because someone has more family/friends wiling to register on a forum to make one vote.
Hope the admins figure this out and the grand prize goes to the photo that actually deserves it. That's all.

I can see 5, 6, maybe even 7 new people, but when there are 30-35 new people voting for one person, that is stuffing the ballot box.

Hahahaha... I am seriously laughing at this. That was what I was alledging to in my post a couple pages back... LOL. As stated, "I'm sure people can figure out what is going on here." When all is said and done, if I had a photo in this contest, I wouldn't be proud of my efforts if some Joe Schmow, who doesn't own or give a true lick about Camaros, voted for it.

MaroSSRT 11-06-2009, 03:39 PM My vote is for Linkwpc ... True Camaro Owners Unite! haha
Having a bunch of 2010' Camaros all together at once is the best pic to me ... Even tho im digging the chick on the camaro, its a Camaro contest soooooo a bunch of Camaros gets my vote.

JasonD 11-07-2009, 02:24 PM Guys, guys, guys...
Let's get a grip here. We made it VERY clear how the entire contest was going to go from the start and I do not recall anyone expressing their thoughts like this then.
I hate to say it, but while we can appreciate the concern which we are certainly taking into consideration, there seems to be a bit of sour grapes mixed in with it. There's no need to be calling people out in this, that will only generate hard feelings.
Rest assured, foul play will be looked into and if discovered, it will determine the outcome when it comes to CHRIS AND I officially announcing the winners BASED on the votes in this thread after carefully reviewing the votes received.
mdenz3 11-07-2009, 02:28 PM I'm just stoked I made the top ten. :)
Thanks Chris and Jason for running the contest and I hope you do many more.

Wow, I missed this completely! I didn't understand the intent of the contest. I have been restraining my son from spreading the word about this contest based on my misunderstanding. This entire time I thought the contest was to be part of the CamaroZ28.com community which I am proud to be a part of. From the feelings expressed, I don't think I am alone. But fair is fair, it looks like the social networking is part of the program.
Congratulations for your resourcefulness, Link.
JasonD 11-07-2009, 04:26 PM Let's make sure that the entire paragraph is quoted, there is a second half that is just as important as the first...which I already quoted before.
Once again, thanks to all who participated. If you made the top 10, congratulations! Feel free to encourage people to vote on your image. Put a link in your sigs, spread the word about your entry on your Facebook account, Twitter page, etc. Please be respectful and honest about it as anything that looks "peculiar" or questionable as far as the voting will be investigated.
And to clarify...

I apologize Jason, and I didn't mean to create any controversy.
On one hand you encourage to get the word out, via twitter/facebook, but in your podcast show #216 you say, "keep your honor about ya" and "no filling the ballot box". What exactly did you mean when you said that?

Yup! I'm a Camaro 5 guy. I have meet so many good people there are now like family to me from there. I was trying to do the same here but it did not seem to work that way. I have always been a fan of the podcast more then the website. I have listened to the podcast for over a 1 year now and I love them. I have tried to be a camaro z28 guy but I do not find the same type of people here like I found in other places. But I do not hate anyone. I'm just a camaro guy that loves camaros. I love to share my love for my camaro with other people that love them as well. That why this website was made right?? For people that love camaros right? Thats why I'm here. But its now really matter about the website. My love does not really change because of the website. You here for same reason right? To talk about camaros! I just did not think it would turn out like this  . Just because of a contest.... I just read the rules and did want I can do.... I just wanted to share my love for the car...

Well, I think Jason AND Chris miss-lead some of us with the Photo part of the contest. Maybe it should have read Membership Drive with Snapshots Contest. Would have saved some members the time/effort of taking a good pic so they could invest it in social networking.

We have more integrity than to do that. If we wanted to do a publicity stunt, we would have not invested so much time and money into it.

Comments like these are ridiculous and very disheartening. We just thought it was be cool to let the public vote on the finals instead of us. If we did, someone would surely be a sore loser and accuse us of something dishonest or being biased. It appears the accusations are flying anyway. I am not very pleased about this so to keep people from getting ideas for more false accusations, the poll result data has been simplified.
CR97WS6 11-08-2009, 07:30 PM I don't blame Chris, Jason, or Camaro Z28 in general for what one person has taken advantage of to win a contest. I think that is is rotten of one person to use a loop hole in a friendly contest to take and pervert the rules to win a prize. Anyone can tell that there were ma\ny pictures better than the one that has the most votes. A sign held up infront of a bunch of camaros with your hand showing it not a well taken, composed picture and anyone can see that. The time it took to get Krissy on the car with a giant printed logo, posed correctly is time consuming and artistic. Setting up your camaro in a halloween theme, very time consuming and original. there are many others that deserve to win this contest, instead, it became a hey everyone I know, sign up and I'll get tires. My .02 and that is all I have to say anymore. Thank you Chris and Jason, keep up the good work on the best Camaro website on the net. I will continue to be a loyal lurker and listener as I have been since 01.

You're right and I apologize for implying you guys were just after new members. I know your intentions with this were to have a fun contest for the members of CZ28 with some really good prizes. You succeeded in getting some pretty damn good entries with what I felt was a strong emphasis on "Creativity" and "Originality". Sadly, and I'm obviously not the only one disheartened with this, the emphasis no longer seems to be "Creativity" and "Originality". True, no matter what you do and what rules you have in place, somebody is not going to happy with the results. By the way, I certainly have not accused anyone of cheating or anything like that, I was just disgusted by the shift away from what I felt was the original intent of the contest. I certainly don't blame you or Chris for that, it's just the way things are turning out.
speeding2fast2c 11-10-2009, 07:43 AM lol, here would be a twist........How about giving the first place prize to the photo with the least amount of votes, and so on.
shock6906 11-10-2009, 10:05 AM Entries will be judged on image quality, creativity, etc.
In my opinion, the image that is in the lead is not the best or even in the top three in either of those two respects.
JasonD 11-10-2009, 10:20 AM In my opinion, the image that is in the lead is not the best or even in the top three in either of those two respects.

mdenz3 11-11-2009, 07:22 PM It's a real shame what this has been turned into by both sides. No matter what Jason and Chris do they will piss off someone. Good luck getting them to do something cool like this for us again. :(

Oh sheesh OK I'll just finally put this argument to rest!!!
Small Block Chevy = Awesome.
LT1 = Most awesome Small Block Chevy ever. (Production anyway.)
LS1 = Rewards of everything GM learned from 40 years with the original small block.
The LS1 wouldn't be the awesome achievement (that it admittedly is) if the old small block (and the crowning achievement of that legacy being the LT1) hadn't cut the path for it.
The LSX motors weren't born of royal blood, they were the evolutionary product of all that came before them.
And I don't know how this all equates to chicks, but uhm you left out 'Super Hot Chick with no brains or personality at all." Which is what we all want.
mudbone 11-12-2009, 01:37 PM LT1 = plain girl w/ good personality

I apparently have multiple looks and personalities, because I have an LT1 and an LS1. Funny... I tend to side with my LT1 car (I like it more). What kind of girl would an LS6 be?
mudbone 11-12-2009, 02:47 PM Success and Eureka! I have managed to create an LT1 vs. the world thread

Iunno man, I did a search and couldn't find anything debating the LT1/LS1 issue.
As for hot chicks... I know this is an ignorant blanket statement, but sadly my experience has been that pretty on the outside (male or female either way) almost always equates to ugly on the inside...

Wrong
My Camaro is far from plain
As has been said many times before and is something I completely agree with
LT1 Camaro's looks > LS1 Camaro's looks
LS1 TA's looks > LT1 TA's looks
I don't think a blanket statement like above works. Every time I see a non SS LS1 Camaro the front of it reminds of a Chrysler Sebring or Concord and it's quite plain
shock6906 11-12-2009, 03:35 PM LS1 TA's looks > LT1 TA's looks
I like an LT1 WS6 more than any LS1 Pontiac.

SmokeyBlaZe 11-13-2009, 04:49 AM So who won?? When will a winner be announced?
JasonD 11-13-2009, 07:53 AM We covered some of it on the current Podcast, but a post will be made this weekend with the "official" results and prizes awarded.
mudbone 11-13-2009, 08:12 AM I'm looking forward to it!
CR97WS6 11-13-2009, 08:19 AM Me too!!
JasonD 11-15-2009, 03:08 PM Okay, After researching the votes, here are the final standings along with the prizes issued.
Now please understand that we know some of the prizes won don't exactly match up with the car owned by the winner but we at least wanted to get as close as we could as far as getting the value in line with the placement of the winners. We tried to do our best with the prizes that we had to give away! If you win something that you just cannot use, consider privately trading it with someone who can. :)
Here we go!

I thought that might happen. I got into a bind when trying to "fit" the prizes to the winner. I was hoping that since I know you know a lot of Camaro folks from the Motown Muscle club, you might find someone who can use it. I am sure you still can! :)

Sounds like a good 'excuse' to buy a 2010 SS to me! I see no other way around it...
Bones3180 11-16-2009, 03:23 PM Jason and Chris,
Thanks so much for this great contest and prize. I'm not sure I'm going to commit to putting the black locking fuel door on just yet, as it won't go with anything else on the car (and if you read the install directions, they mention something about "filing" . . . my car is so new to me, that would be more like "defiling" it). If you guys are cool with it, and since they aren't too far away, I may contact the Defenderworks guys directly and see if I can "trade down" for a set of front and back black bow ties. Either way, it was an honor to get chosen and a thrill to win anything.
Thanks again.

Congrats! That might be tough since Defenderworx sent me the parts a long time ago and I am shipping them out myself. :o

May the best Camaro win! :)
Good stuff
