97 Z28 rear end swap?(stock)

Hi, I am swaping out my friends stock rear axle to another another stock one (becuase the axle housing is rusted through. I have done rear end swaps on Jeeps, but I never worked on camaros. I was wondering if there is anything special I have to look out for, or if it is just a straight forward swap? Thanks for your help. Oh, and what would be the difficulty level on the swap for this 97 z28?

You need to make sure the rear ends are both the same type. There are 3-channel (ABS only) and 4-channel (ABS and traction control). Once you crawl under there, you'll see it isn't that difficult. For the torque arm, put a jack under the diff to take the load off of it while you pull the bolts out.

Oh yea, and when you remove the springs, make sure you take down the rubber cups at the top. Or they might fall and scare the crap out of you (happened to me when I did my fuel pump ).

Thanks. Is there anyway to tell the differents in the channel 3 or channel 4? Do they bolt up differently?

3 channel will have the speed sensor in the center of the rear. 4 channel will have one at each wheel. They bolt up the same.
