Just out of curiosity, lets vote on the new GTO and break it down by age, to see how it works out. Vote on the sketch car only, no hypothetical future fantasy versions.

Me, thumbs up http://web.camaross.com/bb/biggrin.gif.......and I'm 31

I am 30. I like it. But I think it is really unoriginal being that it looks EXACTLY like a Grand Prix.

I may consider it when it comes out because of the total lack of affordable RWD V8 cars out there... but I was hoping for something that wasn't a close of an existing car in their lineup...

I like it. I think others will like the looks when it hits the streets. Don't like the price, though.

I'm glad they didn't tack on ribs, strakes, stripes, spoilers, buldges and other trashy design elements.

I'm 26, BTW.

Don't like it. I do not feel that is styled aggressively enough to carry the GTO name. By aggressive I DO NOT mean scoops and wings. The car must exude a certain subtle muscularity without looking like every other car on the road. It's certainly not ugly, in fact I'd like it fine if it was the new Grand Prix or Grand Am.

29 yrs. old and I like it a lot.

Understated and in keeping with Pontiac's design direction. A Judge/RamAir variant would be nice.

Remember, this design is really not finalized and I want to see what the rear looks like.

I don't care if it's not as fast as a Cobra, even a regular Grand Prix GTP looks better than that boosted Fairmont, inside and out, and you'll still smoke GT's and Mach-1's.

i'm 16 and i think its just ok
my honest reaction is that i think they should produce it but for one reason, it is a fast car, i don't think it looks as good as camaro or firebird. from the looks it doesn't looks like it would handle well. and it looks tooooooo much like a grand am to be a sports car (sorry pontiac fans) you guys gotta think, in the future this is what will be racing in the domestic VS import scene and the can definitley needs room to grow, so as long as they put in a block that can handle the power, like supra engines, if those people back in japan and korea can get 1000 hp out of a little v6 we should get at least....well more then 1000 (for the folks that want to go really fast)

I (wife's car) already own a GTP.......and w/ a pulley & K&N I'm in the 14's.......so why buy another one?

Waaay too "safe" of a design...now if it looked like this... http://www.geocities.com/victorglass222/DutchInjun.html (Thanx HuJass) I'd be MUCH happier.

All in all, it's OK, but I don't hand over $35k++ for OK......too close to my desire for a C5 (even if it's a used one)........BTW, I'm 45.

I'm 43, and the 2004 GTO, as far as I can tell from what has been published so far, is exactly what I wanted when I purchased my 01 Formula. Mechanically, it has everything my Formula has, plus better ride/handling, usable back seat, real trunk, better seating position and low-key styling. I like the styling on my Formula; problem is, the cops don't! This thing is a hi-po magnet! GTO looks like it will be much more stealthy... and quite a bit higher quality in materials and assembly.

I like a car to look good, but at the same time I know that the fancier or gaudy a car looks, the quicker it will age. The interior is excellent, the handling is likely to be the best for it's price, and it promises to be hella fast (not Viper quick, but likely in Z28 range).

I prefer the HSV GTO or GTS look, but I still like it, and I can see myself buying one easily, price dependent.

based on:
http://ohok.com/monarofront.jpg
http://ohok.com/monaroback.jpg
It needs *distinction*.. it needs difference from the Monaro. but that's just wishful thinking. Based on the GTO sketch, we're going to see no changes at all except the easy cheesy stuff.. front & rear bumpers... Still, it'll be awesome to see a new RWD V8 coupe on the streets when they sell out, and they will! It's a step int he right direction.

My dad age 50 likes it quite a bit and will probably buy one. He's had a '67 and a '65 GTO before and says as long as this thing has Holden handeling with LS1 performace a 6-speed and seats for 4 comfortably then he's interested.

OK - not my field of interest, but the invitation was open to all. Here it is.

I'm 33.

I love the drivetrain, suspension. I would love the body too if it said "Monero" on it. Hate it with GTO on it.

Maybe "GTO" was a typo of "GTP" on the GM interoffice re-skin work order going to the graphic artists/designers. Can you see it?

Mr. Doodle,
Please perform minimal changes necessary to make this Holden like our current GTP.
Thanks,
Mgmt.

I (36) think it's disappointing--too 90's-GM-looking. My wife (27) loathes it.

I'm not in the market for it. Too dissappointing-looking, too slow (from the prelim figures).

It makes a great Monaro, but a lousy GTO. $35K would buy TWO very nice REAL GTO's.

I will hold out for the Ute/Maloo/El Camino, or a Camaro.

It does look better to me than a Mustang tho, and by no means is it ugly to me. Just shoulda called it something else.

But the M*****g looks like a musclecar. This thing doesn't. Thats coming from a person that doesn't like F**d or M*****gs. At least the M*****g has lines and isn't all rounded and ****. I like a combination of both. Like the Third Gens ( http://web.camaross.com/bb/smile.gif)and the other musclecars from way back.
