production 03 cobra dyno resultsi8u 06-23-2002, 01:57 PM http://www.forums.svtperformance.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14280 cmsmith 06-23-2002, 03:07 PM Thank you for this link. Interesting thing is the horsepower/torque. I'm saying this is interesting because I got into it with some bull****ters a while back in another post about how the quarter mile run times and horsepower numbers being reported in this newsgroup were not remotely consistent. They would say the stated horsepower was so and so but they would say the rating was obviously understated. "Why, of course it's understated, WAY understated in fact!!" was their battle cry. The engine was producing X amount more than the stated horsepower. Problem was everytime they would make a post the value of X always went up. I vagualy recall some true HP numbers being above 420 HP at the engine, according to some members of the clown posse. Now we have a dyno sheet to look at, I'm leaning toward saying these numbers are legit although I would like 3 or mags to back it up to be safe. Notice the horsepower/torqure numbers fellas, not a single one of them over 400 (although not far away though). Having said that, these numbers are still nice. I wish my camaro got those numbers... http://web.camaross.com/bb/frown.gif Is this your car or someone elses? If it's yours, I'll say congrats. C-ya! IZ28 06-23-2002, 03:28 PM Do they always have to mod them before they dyno?? Do 1 all stock already. Z284ever 06-23-2002, 03:34 PM Stock, they are about 360 hp at the wheels. BigDarknFast 06-23-2002, 04:17 PM That sharp dropoff at the right edge of the graph - is that where the engine fragged itself? http://web.camaross.com/bb/wink.gif ------------------ NBM 99Formula, DF Lid, K&N, SLP WS6 Takeoff Muffler (http://www.mwshowgo.com/Formula99/index.htm) | DFGreen 98 GTP, Insulated SLP K&N, !U!Res, transcooler (http://www.mwshowgo.com/GTPrix/index.htm) | Dark Red Metallic 1990 IROC-Z Camaro, stock (http://www.mwshowgo.com/red90iroc/index.htm) [This message has been edited by BigDarknFast (edited June 23, 2002).] [This message has been edited by BigDarknFast (edited June 23, 2002).] i8u 06-23-2002, 05:13 PM I believe the limiter is set at 6500 rpm. MunchE 06-23-2002, 08:16 PM Stock or not the numbers are impressive, and if that guy gained 35hp by doing a K&N and a cat back, then wow. Imagine with a pulley? Something tells me CAI and exhaust aren't going to net me a 35hp gain on my Z28. John Colletti was gave credit to a very efeciant driveline. Even though we now know the are underated. 99SilverSS 06-24-2002, 12:36 PM Very nice numbers to say the least. I wish he would have made a few pulls before the mods to show a gain with the mods. Either way the car is solidly fast! | ||
