Ok need some help with finishing off the motor my car.

Heres my situation. I have in my possession an 86 IROC-Z with a 305 TPI. (155000 miles) It still runs pretty strong but it eats oil like gas. Ive got a few choices, and am trying to keep it as cheap as possible. Heres the options i am considering.

1. just rebuild the 305

2. find a decent 350 tpi , rebuild and throw in

3. Get the 335 stroker kit for the 305.

Which one of these would you go with? I dont need IMMENSE amounts of power, but i want something that moves a little better than the car does now... (i got spoiled by the LT1) What are these going to cost me? Let me know what you guys think that i should do or offer suggestions with something i dont have here. thanks in advance fellas.

find a 350 block
rebuild the bottom end (stockish rebuild, get a good oil pump)
have the heads re-done
throw em on with the tpi setup you got now
throw your accessories on
there ya go

throw a cam or somethign in there, port the heads a little. then you got a nice engine making nice amount of power for not that much $$$

Jeff Kandied91Z has a engine for sale that runs perfect. You could pick up for about $600.00 without the TPI or wiring harness. You can reuse yours as they are the same. Jeff car ran good with no smoke. He is doing a stroker motor with supercharger and N20 now. He purchased a short block stroker motor.

that seems to be the opinion across the board here, and i would love to pick up that motor, but funds are alotted to the bills for the next couple of weeks, so i cant buy anything right this instant.
600 sounds like a bomb deal
