Something about that front end isn't working for me.

Very odd proportions.... I'd have to see it in the flesh.

And those mirrors look like they came off an 88-90 chevy c/k pickup.

The proportions make the hood look 10 feet long. Yuck

Indeed. They took the "long hood/short deck" styling queue to the extreme.

Wow. From the front it is great... but everything behind the windows looks terrible.

The side profile looks like someone stretched a hardtop Miata.

It looks like that because of its predecessor (300SL Gullwing Coupe)

Yeah, but they didn't need to copy the UGLY features of that car, they did a good job with the front end recreation, but the top looks odd, and what about the Side Flares on the Fenders, non existant on the new one. I hope this is not mercedes final design of it. Because the SLR McClaren rocks it on looks.

A Roadster version of the SLS, will look alot better if thats the top thats going to be on the Hard top

That's actually the hardtop roadster with conventionally opening doors. The Gullwing has a different roofline.

I think the SLS proportions are way off.

Swing and a miss! That's one of the worst sports car profiles I've ever seen.
