Exclamation SERIOUS company looking for feedback to produce the ultimate F-body turbo kits!

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up on a serious company who is looking to build a selection of OEM quality turbo kits for LS1 and LT1 and possibly even V6 f-bodies.

Be advised, this company IS NOT not taking any kind of prepayment, pre-sale, deposit, etc. on turbo kits at this time. They are first looking hear from your experience on what you think a f-body turbo kit should be all about.

All they are looking for at this time is to interact with the F-body crowd about what they do and do not like about the turbo kits that are currently available for f-body so they can build the perfect f-body turbo kit.

Their site is definitely worth checking out as right now they just want know what the future buyers want, nothing more than that. Once enough feedback has been generated, they plan to start working on the kits. They have already started to jig the kits for LS1 cars and as they do, they need to intereact with people to ensure they continue heading the right direction.

This is YOUR chance to speak your mind about what an f-body turbo kit should and should not be, and help shape what the final products will have to offer. Want a twin turbo kit for a street car that does nor sacrifice daily dreveability? Tell them. Want to pull the front wheels a foot off the ground and hit the traps at 140+ mph? They want to know.

Head over to http://www.turbolocity.com and feel free to surf to the LS1 and LT1 sections of their forums. You may see a lot of Ford-related information there, but don't let that scare you away, these guys are SERIOUS about building the ULTIMATE selection of turbo kits for f-bodies.

One last thought...
This is not some fly-by-night company who is just flying this operation by the seat of their pants. One of the people who is spearheading this operation is a close personal friend of mine and the brawn behind the production of these kits has wants to do this and do it right and has the experience to pull it off.

Let's help make the best turbo kit ever for f-bodies!

Having one for the V6 would be absolutely great, but my major question is: can the stock v6 engine (the engine itself) hold however much PSI the turbo gives (4-8 PSI probably) without serious damage?

Would the engine need to be modded to handle the turbo?

turbos are great! i think that a turbo kit for the 3.4L and 3.8L would be a great idea and would sell very well. they would sell good as long as the price was right though.

Jason,

I know you're friends with the owner of the company doing this so I figured I'd ask you first, then them...

ARE THESE PEOPLE SERIOUS ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY TEST THE V6 CARS?!

If so, I'm sure I could send them a metric TON of business and I will spread the word throughout the community.

If not, well.......yeah.

Well as in stuff wanted....

This is one thing I can think of if he goes for 3.4L and 3.8L v6s...

A possible stage I and stage II setup...

A Stage I consisting of a small boost, maybe non-innercooled(assuming it can be down safely) The key being it is more inexpensive, not a huge need for aftermarket computer programing(not a big or easy market for v6 guys), run off stock internals, relatively easy install.

Stage II consisteing of an Innercooled setup, huge amounts of boost that will push the limits or require a better built motor, possible aftermarket fuel management, bigger injectors, all out, insane turbo.

Also for what its worth Jason D, may want to talk to Tiago, he has a turbo 3.4L that ran a 13.5, and still has tuning issues but is on the stock internals.

Tiago's car is sweet just imagine what he'll run with once all the tunning issues are taken care of, prolly low 13's even hi 12's. Not to take away from the 3.8 but just imagine what the 3.8 could do. I really hope this happens. Have any v6 members been in contact with them???

i believe the motor could hang. but it would have to be intercooled. not worth building if its not. the only problem i have seen with other V6 turbos are that there arent any to compare to. anything for us would cost an arm and a leg. yes, it would be worth it, but how many people are willing to spend high dollars?

the high $$ is what is keeping me from saying i would do it. i would love to hav a turbo , but on a limited budget it will never hapen unless i do all the work and find parts used for cheap.

Interchangeability with Buick GN

This would really spice up the mod scene. Can you imagine the excitement generated if someone showed up at the Michigan gathering in July with full plumbing and a hair dryer or two? Not to mention boost guages and timers on the dash.

If the turbos are similar to the Buick hardware or the stuff GM is using to inflate the Ecotec 4, those on a budget might swap boneyard parts for non-crirtical components. I've seen full Volvo and Saab systems in Stangs and other domestics. There's also that shop in Massachusetts that will strengthen your engine with whatever you need.

Speaking of the $$$ involved, I've seen your sigs, and most of you can handle whatever Turbolocity dishes out, or can figure out what to sub to save.

They are getting their doner cars end of this week. Look for project car updates on their site in a couple of weeks.
