the internal step up ratio is bigger on the D1 i believe. checkout procharger site for the comparison breakdowns. D1sc is has more potential

ive you need to think which one you need, go D1 better to have power on tap than run out. the price difference is probably negligible.

wont it run too much power on a stock motor? i thought they were more for racing and built motors rather than just a stock motor?

you can run as little or as much boost as you want. change the pulleys.

No, the F series are geared towards racing and built motors, like the F3r i believe USES/EATS 300HP to turn it, whereas the D1SC is perfectly fine for street usage. My 98 Z28 had a D1SC and was awesome, at only 7 or 8 pounds, but i had the ability to crank it higher when wanted/needed. Like the others have said, if possible, just get the D1, it is less than 800 bucks i believe to upgrade, and makes much more sense in the long run.

so i should go for a d1sc and still run the same 6-8lbs boost and ill be fine. it just gives me more room for boost with upgrades. ill have to do some searching for it.

Correct, you still run the same boost level, but with the quicker spool up on the D1, and the ability to make more power long term if you should decide to build up the engine internals.

You should also be able to order your kit, and request through ATI if you would like your specific head unit to be quieter or louder gear whine if they still offer that. If you buy an off the shelf kit form a distibutor, then you get what you get. So if you can wait a bit, order the kit through your distibutor, and have the head unit built to your noise likings.

P1SC will max out at about 8#'s or so. Where the D1SC usually tops at 15-18#'s. D1SC is more for a hardcore street application. Lots of guys have run 800+ RWHP in their LSX powered cars and ran them into single digits in the 1/4 mile with a D1SC.
The LS3 in your new camaro is fairly boost friendly, however I would be skeptical running stock internals and running more than 10#'s of boost though it without seeing some premature wear or possible catastrophic break.

If you want to know that your Camaro will handle the potential of what the D1SC can put through it, you would need to upgrade a few things like billet main caps, rods and pistons with good rings, head studs, etc. (and of coarse the supporting mods like fuel system, tune, intercooler ect.).

If you just want something to slap on without all the extra work needed to make it safe for the bigger amount of power, I'd just to the P1SC or run the D1SC at a low boost setting. Even if you go this route, you still are going to need to do the supporting mods mentioned above with a good tune.
