I've finally settled in for a few more weeks. I'm just wondering what are some cool places to go to, bars, fun, etc. I'm staying out in Hillsboro, right of 185th and US 26. Any ideas??

..now your talking, Oregon mirco brew's are perfect...I make a habit of going down very often to check out new things. As for Hooters, you might as well hang out at a trailer park, Hooters has no class what so ever, if only the girls were actually hot...

What are some cool brew pubs downtown? I went down there yesterday and only found the Rock Bottom Brewery. I've also been to Jakes, which was cool for dinner. But there's gotta be some cool trailer trash brewery's around? Is there another part of downtown that I'm missing out on? I don't have a clue where things are down there other than all the shopping areas around Niketown. I'm open to almost any type of place, I just want to find a bar to hang out at, not to eat dinner or anything like that.

Hey Derty you play pool?? There is a cool little hot dog\sportbar in Hillsburo, kinda dinky but nice (everything is new and clean!) and right near you. Let me know and I'd meet for a couple of games of pool. Northwest is pretty cool downtown and people watching and getting grub.

No hooters

I can play pool, I'm not that great though. A little better at Foosball myself.

goto the Dolphin II its off of 10 I believe.. or was it 8? i always mix up the two..

or goto Stars! I actually haven't been there yet...

I live in Beaverton actually too, near 185 and western union.. I live less than a minute away from you! If you go down 185, past 26, past a school, you'll hit western union.. around that area, there are TONS of back roads to hit..

If you see a black 99 Z28 with the loudmouth exaust, driven by a short asian guy, you just spotted me.. ;)

There's the Cornelius road house, off cornelius road, near a Fred Meyers... I like going there occasionally after work for a few quick beers.... My coworker knows of a few dive bars he frequents, so I'll ask him..

Helvatia (spelling?) is another small place, out in the middle of nowhere that has a small bar, decent burgers, and 1 pool table.. If you take shute road, it turns into Helvatia road after crossign over 26...

If you guys are going to meet up some place, post it on here, and maybe I'll try to make it..

I'm from the Eastside so I can't be much help, but as far as strip clubs the Dolphin is pretty nice, and I have heard good things about Stars but haven't made it out there yet. I'm pretty sure there is a Old Chicago out in Beverton, they have a 110 beers and Beer Tour so that could keep you pretty busy.. Portland Brew Company, McMenamins Pubs, Widmer, Full Sail all have pubs downtown, plus more... Good Luck

Yup, same person. Let me know what you want to chat about on the MC and we an meet up sometime.

Thanks for all the bars so far. I've been to McMenaminns and Old Chicago already. Kind of cool, but I want to find a more bar/bar rather than a restaurant/bar place. I'll have to check some places out downtown for sure.

Hey! You still haven't gotten ahold of us, yet!

We live in Hillsboro...the Orenco area.

If you're looking for some fun this weekend, we're doing a dyno day at our shop for a local Corvette club. There will also be some Camaros there. (Last weekend was a 3rd Gen F-body group.)

You are most welcome to come on down and hang out for the day. We'll most likely get a bite to eat afterwards.

It's at 8:00 a.m. on January 25th.
The shop address and a map are at:
http://www.mcgeesauto.com

If you'd like to meet us first, we'll be going out to dinner on Friday night. There's usually a group of us.

Email me at gldlox@hotmail.com if you'd like to meet up w/us and I'll keep you posted on where we are going on Friday night.

Sounds good.....if you want to run your car, just give Steve a call at the shop...there might still be room to squeeze a few in.

You might try getting ahold of the local SCCA and do some autocrossing. It's a blast and we need more Camaro's out there. They're held at PIR starting next month. Email me if you'd like to give it a shot.

I actually drove my truck out here instead of my car. Saves on racking up the mileage, 32000 miles in one year is more than enough. If I'm here long enough I may bring the car out, but I'm not sure at the moment.

I'll look at coming out to the dyno day tomorrow though!

Looking forward to meeting you...if you are here for an extended period of time, we can keep you busy with the group of people we hang out with. You'll meet many of them at the dyno day.

If you need any help with directions, my cell phone is 503-939-9968.
