Strange exhaust thought...

All ricer comments aside, has anyone given any thought as to what one of those import mufflers (such as the ones made by Magnaflow) would sound like on our 3.4's??
You could just cut the stock exhaust off before the bend on the input side of the stock muffler and weld or clamp one of those import mufflers on in it's place.
The exhaust would now exit on the passenger's side.

Maybe a stupid thought, but might actually sound decent on a 6 cyl engine...

Never thought of it...though I'm sure some import guy has thought "I wonder what a flowmaster would sound like on my Si".

My friend has a flowmaster on his 98 Acura Integra LS. It actually doesnt sound half bad for an engine that has less displacement that a soda bottle.

Another kid around my way has dual Apex'i exhaust on his 3.4, RX-7 style. Dont try it, it sounds like the after effect of eating beans for dinner. Way too high pitched for a Camaro, well unless its like lime green and stickercharged.

I heard it on a 3.8L, he had a y-pipe, that led to dual import style mufflers, it sounded ok, but more like a import, best description is a v6 Accord, with exhaust.

Never heard it on a 3.4L, but honestly 3.4Ls usually don't sound bad with the average exhaut system.

I put on a $15 thrush muffler and it had a mixture of a import exhaust and rough choppy idle of a v8ish type sound. Its hard to explain. But I took a risk in a loss of hp to get a better soudning setup.

I had the kinda same thoughts when looking for exhaust. Not b/c to be like a import. But that the catbacks split the flow(restrict alittle) 3.5 ft. before the end of the line, just to have dual pipes.IMO it is best to just forget about going to dual, and continue w/a single straight thru design muffler(like Magna,Dyno)single tailpipe(side pipe, yeah). Say 2.75" pipe from the highflow cat to 2.75" straight through muff.and a 2.75" tailpipe.Would get the same results, maybe better.
But I abandoned that,so I dont really know. And got the Magnaflow complete catback system, and it does split the flow in the muff, when it could flow/FLY right out a single. But the split/Y inside catback muff. is true to straight thru.No baffles, dead ends.
