question about my monsoon

i have the mansoon system in my 01Z. and when i looked into putting in a new HU salesmen at every store told me i had to replace all my speakers when putting in a new HU. is this true? and if i do how do i go about rewireing all the speakers. how can i tell what wires go to what speakers.

No, you do not need to replace all speakers. You can simply replace the deck. The aftermarket deck will work with the factory monsoon amp and speakers. You will only need a standard GM wiring harness and the kit for your car. More information can be found in the FAQs at ls1.com

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some salesman are. They think they know it all when most cases they haven't got a clue. I was at a Best Buy or Circuit City (I forget which) a few weeks ago and overheard this young punk salesman telling a guy that "You gotta have shielded RCA cables to prevent noise in the system." I stepped in and told him that he was full of it and that shielded RCA's will do nothing to prevent noise. You need RCA's that use twisted pair wiring for the noise cancellation effects it has. I could tell when I looked at him he didn't have the slightest idea of what I was talking about.

I install @ BB, and 99% of my sales people lie. We arent even on comission there. I correct them when/if I can.

I've been searchign for answers in installign a HU, and I know that all I need to do is buy one of those adaptors. I called Circuit City, and asked them how much they charge for it, and they gave me some BS.

They said that with the Bose set ups, they rewire everythgin and you HAVE to change everythign and buy new speakers at the same times as well :rolleyes:

I didnt even feel like tellign them how full of **** they were. The funny thing is that my GF used to work there sellign car audio stuff, and she told me that they DO have the adaptor. Its the PAC unit (thats the name that she recognized when I told her). Its been a couple of months since she was there, so I dotn know if they no longer have it, or if they jsut wanted to sell me speakers at the same time. Now I know where NOT to go for car audio installs.
