275/40r17 tire on 17x11 wheel possible??

like the title says is it possible, i have two tires laying around, my 335 tires are shot..

Most tire manufacturers recommend a wheel width of 9.0" - 11.0" for a 275/40-17. If the tire manufacturer tells you that, for the specific tire you are using, it will be fine. Might look a bit "stretched", since a 275 is about 11" wide, and an 11" wheel is actually about 12" wide when you include the flanges that retain the tire beads.

how can i find out to see if it fits with the tire manufacturers . tire rack maybe???

i have two Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires tire rack says (rim width range 9-11'') for the 275/40r17. so i guess im ok right??

I use 1010tires.com Enter your tire size and it will tell you what size wheel it should be on

Yes. Tire Rack lists the GS-D3 and every other 275/40-17 tire I looked at (maybe 6 or 7) as 9.0 to 11.0"
