Bumblebee is a Z28

I just got back from Transformers. Bumblebee has a big wide open hood scoop. It's not a dinky non-functional SS mail slot. There was no badge on the grill, and we never saw under the hood, but I'm thinking there was an LSA under there.
It gave me hope, anyway.
Other than Bumblebee, the movie was something of a disappointment. Not as good as the first one, and some of the crudity was embarassing (I took my daughter).

Actually Bumblebee is a GTO in a Camaro skin. So unless they've swapped engines, there's probably an LS2 under the bonnet. ;)

Erm....I think they've swapped CARS. They kept the ridiculously small Concept mirrors, but I'm pretty positive that they switched to the production camaro. It's a testament to how true they stayed to the concept that it's that hard to tell. It's got real rims and brake discs now, and the vehicle's bodywork exactly matches that of the Z/28 shots we've seen.

They also did a lot more driving with the car in this film...stuff they would never do in a one-off 6 figure concept vehicle, like burnouts and powerslides in sand.

Gotta disagree about the movie though. I thought it was way better than the first. They pushed the PG-13 rating with language, violence, and crude humor, but the story (if you could keep up..the movie is just non-stop and a lot of people may have trouble picking up on everything) is much more complicated, there's a ton of nods to the original source material, the action is insane (really, it's the craziest thing I've ever seen on the screen)....I dunno. I loved it...I felt like they needed to include the humor because the movie was just such a crazy ride that the audience needed a way to get their breath...plus it's simple, stupid humor. The whole movie is an indulgence.

I'm almost positive that the movie cars are still the GTO based props. That movie was filmed a year ago, way before any production Camaros were around.

Yes the movie car was made to look like the Z28, but its still a GTO prop.

You can see the differences from the sidemarkers, fuel door location, door handles, B-pillar, etc:

Fbodfather stated that they had to take the original Bumblebee movie cars off of the show circuit because Paramount needed them back to film the sequel.

OK OK I didn't mean there was REALLY an LSA under there. Duh. I meant that Bumblebee LOOKS like a Z28 so in the movie we should/could suspend disbelief and believe there was an LSA under there.

My interpretation is that there is hope for the Z28. Maybe if we just find the "Matrix" or whatever that little dissolving piece of metal was the Primes all died* to keep safe behind 1/2 inch of crumbling plaster and spike it into the scoop the Z will come alive like Optimus Prime did.

*I guess it makes more sense for the most powerful autobots all to die, leaving the bad guys all alive, just to make a porous fence with their dead worthless bodies to keep a tiny key a couple of miles from where it will do the most harm than for one of them to take it off the planet while the others stick around to deal with the bad dudes.

All of the autobots get wiped out except Bumblebee. Sam Witwicky is also mortally wounded my Megatron. Megatron kills Optimus in the forest. All of the decepticons except Starscream and Megatron die. Starscream then betrays Megatron and kills him becoming the new leader of the Decepticon army.

Bumblebee is no longer a camaro at the end because his cover has been "blown" and his new disguise is previewed after the credits. He is a 2010 Mustang.

I went looking into the camaro website and found in one of the vides one of the designers talking about bumblebee having the new z28 hood, lol. Hope it becomes reality one day.

Supposedly Bumblebee's designed after what would've become the Z28 had the auto industry not tanked.

At least one of the cars had to be real with some bolt ons. Saw it yesterday in imax and the interior shots are genuine 5th gen. There's a scene when they're doing something in the car and u can notice the climate controls in the in the background, think it was when sam gets picked up by bumblebee at the party and the "girl" (no spoilers) joins him for a drive.

The interiors were done in "camaro" too. The movie was filmed a year ago, there were no production Camaros to use for filming:shrug:

nope. not real. the car is based off of the concept not the production version. they made the pieces for the car to look like the concepts pieces. in the movie biz you use a few cars. action shots, interior shots and still shots. some tiems still shots are just a shell of a car. the ones for action shots are kinda beat up and used to run through things and the other car is a more detailed car for interior shots and close ups.

blah the movie was just as bad as the first one. it had its comedy which is the only good thing. its terrible story and half the time you dont even know who is fighting who or what happened. optimus fought like 5 of them at once but had truoble with one of them in the first one. sorry i dont like the transformer movie but i do love transformers. michael bay is a jackass.

its a bunch of sound affects and blurry mechanical parts flying across the screen the whole time. id rather watch bumble bee drive on a highway in one direction for 2 hours.

oh and not to just talk about the movie, that z28 stuff is sweet looking on bumblebee.

WOW! dude, remember its a MOVIE.its not real life. its for peoples enjoyment. just relax, take a pill and watch the movie. movies arent always accurate or perfect. theres not alot of giant robots to watch and see how they interact.

The movie was great! I can understand being dissappointed due to the overcharged crude comments and unnecessary language, but the movie itself was perfect. The CGI was easily the best I've ever seen, the bots weren't only bad-to-the-bone, but they were funny as well. The fighting scenes were creative and the sound was amazing.

The plot was vintage Transformers and the action was non-stop and intense. What else could you ask for?

The best part is how they ripped Obama (Go Michael Bay!) for wanting to talk diplomatically with the alien robot Decepticons before engaging in battle with them. HAHAHA. LOL. Typical. Diplomacy works as about as good on the Decepticons as it does on the Taliban. Good job on that one.
