GM Supplier Discount?

Went to dealer last week and noticed that the GM Employee discount on a Camaro 2SS is around $1,200. I know the car is in high demand, but this seems VERY low for a car that invoices for ~$36k. Anyone have any insights on why this is true? I didn't think the supplier discount was dependent on market demands.

Don't know about employee pricing, but my supplier pricing was right around $1100. Something's not right about the invoice price you're quoting...my 2SS/RS has an MSRP of around that amount.

I checked it out at gmsupplierdiscount.com and there is not much of a discount for the Camaro SS. $1,000 is a lot of money, but not as much of a discount as I've found on other vehicles.

It looks like GMS is around $3000 on an SS. Got to www.lunghamerchevy.com and they have a bunch of Camaros listed along with their GMS and retail. Go to the "Search New Inventory" section then just click search without entering any parameters. It pulls up all the stock they have. There are a bunch of Camaros there, although I noticed not many of them have Vin's - must be their allocation cars.

I take it GMS is the GM Supplier Price? Why would there be a difference between dealers? Or was my 1st dealer trying to hose me?

GMS is not supplier price. thats GM employee price.

Supplier price is on the dealer invoice. Terms of the Supplier Purchase Program is the dealer shows you that invoice and confirms the price. That price is set by GM Corporate.

Used to be a link from the suppliers website would take you into gmbuypower and show you the supplier price.

There is much more mark up in a Corvette than in the Camaro.
