i am back, and got some questions bout my car.

well after my parents having the car for over a year they are finally tired of going to car shows so have signed the title back over to me .. (part of a big plan on them paying for new paintjob and some other work it needed) .... now the car looks a little better from the outside and inside ... but i am ready to carry it a few steps further ...

so far on my list are upgrading the suspension and brakes ... along with that the wheels ... my plans are Torque Thrust 2's ... 17" most likely ... for the rest of the suspension ... considering lowering the front just a little and keeping the rear about where it is to get more of a rake to it ... or a larger wheel on the rear ... just like that look ...

what would ya reccomend for suspension? ... the car will be driven on occasion to cruise around town and pick my 10 year old up from school from time to time

after that next on the list is the motor .. right now it is just a good solid 350. .. i would love to build it up with a roots style blower on there and have it sticking out the hood ... but that would take a few years ... anyone have a website link that would list the basics for an engine buildup to be that kind? ... not looking for major hp numbers just good power and reliability ...

here are pics of the car for most everyone .. since it has been a while since i visited the site and posted em ...

Why does almost every person with a first gen get Torgue Thrust 2's??? Please consider another wheel choice, something similar that isn't a torque thrust 2. Lowering the car more? Are you going for that 1970s drag car set-up look? Did your 69 happen to be a plain jane model to begin with? Just curious.

well that style wheel i have always liked .. so it is either those or something very similar to them ... i dont like the asymeterical designs of most of the newer wheels .. just a good simple 5 spoke design ... there is one other out there that i like but the price is shyin me away from them ... it is more of a disc (polished aluminum) but as most people say what i like is most important

yes it is an X44 body style ... came with a straight 6 origonally ... no options when i picked it up it looked like someone was trying to make a Z28 clone out of it but it had sat for several years and started rusting in several places plus most of the suspension was shot ... now has PS and A/C and motor swap among other things ... i completed most of that but it was in need of body work ... thats when i signed over to parents for them to pay for bodywork and paintjob ...

hmmm 70's drag car setup look? ... well the cars i remember from the 70's still sat high in the front .. and lower in the rear .. but that may just be the area i am from ... i like the CARtoon look with smaller wheels in the front and larger in the rear with a forward rake to the bodylines ...

as for lowered .. when the wheels are on there i would prefer to not have a huge gap between the tire and the wheel well .. if i wanted that ... i would get a 4 by 4 ...

Does the car not have an engine?
THIS is why I ask.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to knock ya or anything. I was just wondering if you had considered any other 5-spoke styles. Out of the 4 links I'd pick the second one. I've seen the 4th one on a Beemer, and it looked bad. Anyways,, got any of the parts left from the straight 6? I've got a friend who'd be interested in them.
I guess that "look" is just from where I'm from. All the 60s muscle around here has that big wheels in the back small in the front look. Most of them were like that when I was growing up too. (insert a shrug smiley here since we don't have one)

mine is planned to be at least a 16 maybe even a 17 up front and then one step larger on the rear ... wider as well ... (as wide as will fit under there without cutting)

i still have some of the 6 cyl parts out behind my shop .. the motor was seized up completly ... so i just pulled it all out and dropped it on some old tires ... have sold the intake , exhaust and a few other parts off of it already tho ...
