383 + D1SC or (F1C) = 700 RWHP?

Ok, well today I am going to start pulling off all my nitrous stuff. I have always wanted to go FI and I kinda figured now would be a good time.

I have a block that is getting prepped now for a 383 and it is going to get a splayed 4 bolt main. I need to decide what internals I want to go with so I can get them to my machinist.

I would like to make 700 or CLOSE to 700 RWHP and do it all on pump gas. I will more than likely have Lloyd do my heads and cam and probably go with either the new TFS heads or AFR 227's. And it will have a Victor E on it with a 860 elbow and a monoblade.

What recommendations on parts/plan/setup do you guys have? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Oh, I also forgot to mention, the rest of the car is pretty much already set up. It's rolling on a Dana 60 with 4.10's, full BMR suspension (and I mean full, pretty much everything in the BMR catalog except for front upper and lower control arms), and a tranny and clutch that will handle 800 HP.

I would say F1 if your ***** ever get bigger, you will be able to up the boost, but a D1SC will ge you where you want to be and then some. If you're set on 700 RWHP and know thats where you wanna stay, go D1. As for internals, obviously everything needs to be forged, and the rod bolts need to be ARP 2000 or better with some H-beams, and like ive learned here, 2618 alloy forged pistons from JE, Ross, or Diamond. Your head selection will dictate piston dish depending on combustion chamber size. I would say pick your heads, then call callies directly on the bottom end and let them get you setup.

Thanks man, I think I'm gonna go with AFR 227's but I'm not for sure yet. Just trying to get the right parts together before I take the plunge.

I would choose the F1. Going from nitrous to a supercharger will give you a sensation that you are going to want to up. After you reach 700rwhp you will want 750rwhp then 800rwhp. If you get the F1, run it at low boost and reach your goal, then when you want to up it, you simply get a smaller pulley and begin to tune it again. Have fun.

Holy Crap man, that is pretty much the same setup I was looking to do, lol. I even have a GMMG on the car with Fikse FM5's! haha

Going to Ed Wright June 26th to get my tune setup, 4L80E/Fab 9 combo but I figure we will still hit 700rwhp even through that drivetrain. Thats with a 383, AFR 216 runner LE Heads, Small 224/230 cam, Twin nozzle meth kit, Maxed Reved D1SC.

Hopefully after 3 yrs w/ my build I'll post my numbers up next month as I'm finally going to they dyno in late June myself. Seriously worked LT1 heads w/ meth on an F1. We'll see what she pulls w/ and w/ out the meth. Previous friend of mine w/ the exact same configuration I have as I cloned his setup w/ the exception of the single plane intake and a custom 3" FLP y-pipe, and he put down 740rwhp. I think I can get close to 700.

I'd go F1. W/ 227 afrs you'll need offset shaft mounted rockers won't you? That's a lot of air w/ those heads. But you'll definitely have room to grow w/ that F1.

I'm running the f1a on my 355 with ported lt4's with a 3.40/7.60 pulley combo making ~17psi and the most power its made so far is 755/747 and its got a bit left in it I think. This is on 91 with meth.

It's interesting how you guys can max out your D1 SC blowers. I'm running the D1 which has a slightly different step-up ratio and with it pullied for max blower RPM at about 6500 RPM, it made 18 lbs of boost at 4500. There's no way I can run that on 93 octane, so I am putting a bigger blower pulley on and should know what it'll do on Tuesday.

I'll save the smaller pulley for the E85 conversion...
