I bought a remanufactured LT4 starter - it was bad from the factory but I didn't discover that until after I spent the time to get it in and mounted. So I broke down and bought a Jegs ProStarter 555-10001 and just put it in. Doesn't sound any different or get my car starter any faster, which was a minor dissapointment, but no worries.
Anyway, after having had both the LT4 and the Jegs starter mounted, I noticed that they both left a small 1 inch by 3 inch gap in the flywheel housing. Is this a concern?
My car is a DD, and sees all seasons. Wouldn't moisture getting past the flywheel housing would be a bad thing?
See attached bad photo - area in question is circled in green.

I'll probably mod something up, but what do you think of this issue?
