Almost new tranny. What fluid?

So I bought a Pro Race tranny from a guy who spun a bearing on an initial test drive, so I's only got 20 miles on it and I have a Vigilant 2800 triple disc stall with about 2,000 miles on it.

I'm wondering what fluid to go with?

A lot of people say stay away from synthetic, but why. I can understand on a used tranny, but a practically new one like mine shouldn't have the same issues.

Also how many quarts does the 4L60E and a torque converter hold?

No sure who the pro race is by, However I can say we dont have any issue with using synthetic fluid with any of our units, In fact we have many customers that do.
However I will say IMO its a waste of money since if you have and adequate cooler and some good dexron and service regularly which you should do anyway the regular works just as well.

"Pro Race" is by CPT but this tranny was built by an independent shop using a CPT Pro Race build sheet.

Also does anybody know about how much a 4L60E with a converter will hold? I have a 4L60E with a vigilant 3 disc converter and a hughes deep tranny pan that holds 3 extra quarts.

Looks like its about 8.5 total for a stock sized pan.
