Chevy Ryan 04-20-2009, 02:10 AM As per today's issue of Automotive News, here are the Camaro production numbers as of Saturday, April 18:
Week of April 13-18: 1758 (roughly 351 per day)
So far in April: 4427
Since start of production: 6842
:)
Thats excellent! They are really turning them out. Mine might be here sooner than I thought.
2010_5thgen 04-20-2009, 08:37 AM so they almost have half of the pre orders done. well maybe not since there are a few hundred display models for the dealerships. so at about 350 a day, and 1700+ a week, all of the pre orders should be built by the 2nd or 3rd week of next month?

Dont forget there are dealer stock orders in there too, but yes, things are ramping up nicely.
Ed 2001 SS 04-20-2009, 09:10 AM I doubt they would run 100% V8s...and I think most of the pre orders were V8s. Probably still have a ways to go on the preorders.
2010_5thgen 04-20-2009, 11:15 AM 100% of the pre orders werent v8's. alot were but not 100%. i hope that they dont build stock for lots before they would build all the pre orders. that would be pretty low if they were to put off a paying and waiting enthusiast/customer just to put v6 stock on lots.

2010_5thgen 04-20-2009, 01:19 PM im guessing they update it every week?
did HUMMER stop making the H2 already? all i saw was h3 production.
Interesting fact:
1758 built last week. More than the entire Cadillac division at 1744!
If they maintain this production level than that will 87,900 Camaros built in 12 months.
2010_5thgen 04-20-2009, 02:15 PM its supposed to go a little quicker i think. they did plan on making 100k the first year, but i think they may have changed that number after the beginning of this year.85-90 sounds good.
JakeRobb 04-20-2009, 02:25 PM If they maintain this production level
They won't. They're planning on 40-50k for the year.
prophet33 04-20-2009, 03:11 PM not all pre orders will be built within the next month mine isnt scheduled to be here till june or july

its down to 40 or 50k now? thats alot less than i thought it was supposed to be and way less than the number they thought last year

if its not scheduled to be there till june or july that doesnt meen its not going to be built next month. from what i have noticed is from beginning production to delivery is about a month. so if your order gets built next week you may still not get it until june. yet your car was built in may. all preorders should be built by end of next month.
They'll make more than 40-50K a year.
They did this with the first CTS and HHR and ended up building way more than they said they would.

The H2 should be listed at the very start of the page, under "AM General". Technically, GM doesn't build the H2. But you are correct, it doesn't appear that AM General has made any H2 models in 2009. I never heard it was cancelled, must be a prolonged inventory adjustment.

In 2002 (when the CTS came out) and 2005 (when the HHR came out), and even in 2008 when we heard the pie-in-the-sky 100,000-vehicles-per-year estimates, we weren't in the biggest recession our economy has seen in several decades.
At the beginning of this year, GM said 50k. Today, they said 40k. (http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=682262)

Also, nearly as many for the week as Corvette for the year (1,931)
