I know if your just painting an intake you'd use high temp paint but I want it powder coated. Is high temp powder coat really needed for the intake? Normal powder coat is good for a little over 300f. I noticed there is a rubber grument (sp?) on the intake that seems fine with the temp it normally reaches. They stated this grument had to come off for the oven process of powder coating. So I figure if the rubber can not handle the oven but the powder coat can than it must be OK to just use normal temp powder coat. Anyone have experience with normal temp powder coat on the intake?

Most powders that I used would be cured around 400deg., so unless you plan on lighting your car on fire you'll be fine using normal powder.

I noticed a few on ebay just using the 400 temp as well.
I reasoned that low temp pc would be OK becaue they were making me take the rubber gurment out of the intake so it wouldn't get burned. That proved to me that the intake never gets as hot as the powder coating process so it should be OK.

Mine has been powder coated in standard powder and it's fine. I've had it on for over a year, and it still looks great.

NICE!
I wish that I had done mine in something other than black, you can hardly see mine.
This is definitely the perfect thing to do to your intake when you're doing the lovely intake leak repair too.
