I've always wanted one but somehow I would end up with a ws6, vette, saleen, mustang, GN, or cobra but I finally got the one I always wanted a 1997 camaro SS red auto, ttops, charcoal leather, slp single exit exhaust and ss chrome rims just pure sex!!! I have been looking for awhile and here it is. :)

these pics were taken the day we picked it up his house.
it still needs to cleaned and a few coats of zaino!!!

nice id ditch the front plate though. when i bought my Z the first thing i did was remove the front plate holder. before i even left the guy's house, in fact i left it in his yard when i left.

So you left $30 at the guys house.

FYI: plenty of people look to buy the holder.

Anyways, very nice SS. How many miles? Oh and tint the windows.

thanks everyone I called State Farm earlier and I almost fell off my chair when she said my six month full coverage. For the 97 SS it will be $291 every 6 months. She said camaros are high risk. And for my Firehawk its an 2002 I pay $253 every 6 months. Thats a five yr swing!!:bang:

Removing the front plate will leave 2 holes, one on each side of where the red bowtie would be.

Nice car, but I'm a bit partial to LT1 SS's.

The fact you've been paying more than you need to for 14 years doesn't mean that you have to continue for the rest of your life.

You seemed to be upset at the prices, so I was offering you an alternative. Using an independent broker is almost always the best option -- they'll shop around for you and find you the best rate. A really good broker like the one I use will even continue to shop once you're an established customer, so that if a better deal comes up later on, they'll find out, call you, and recommend that you switch.

I pay about $700 every six months for full coverage on three cars (my 2002 Z28, the GN, and a 2000 Bonneville), plus PLPD on my winter beater (a '93 Regal). That covers me and my wife, and we both have a couple points on our licenses from speeding tickets.

I'm upset that the insurance is more than a 1997 SS over a 2002 firehawk I just don't get that part. I appreciate the offer I will look into it since I see what you pay is purty cheap.

thats sucks I think we have all over paid for insurance when we were younger. I think premiums are great its just more money for a 97 over 02 I don't get that.

There are more camaros on the road than firebirds. The chances of a camaro being in a wreck is higher than a firebird, just due to the numbers. Corvette insurance is cheaper than a firebird, or camaro.

I don't see why your making a big deal of it. There's a sticker on your door that says SLP. I believe the passenger side one should say SLP Car # and a number between 1 and 28xx.

My car isn't close to me (Stored at my moms house while I'm in school) or else I'd run out and take a picture of mine.

I don't get it. How is it posing when all SS models are upgraded Z28's? Since not all Z28's are SS' it could be considered posing if you were to add SS badging to a Z28. I'd get rid of the front plate only because it is not aesthetically pleasing.

Because the SS was/is the top model in both power and upgrades for the 4th Gens. So many guys will put SS decals, etc. on their Z28's. No one puts Z28 decals on their SS's. It'd be like putting V6 on a V8. So most people who see a big Z28 on the nose and then SS decals on the side will think you have a Z28 that you've put SS, stuff on, trying to impress or fool everyone, i.e. posing!
