I am probably answering my own question. However I read in a few other threads that gas typically lasts 8 months. So 8 months ago I had 1/4th of a tank that had been sitting 4 months. I added 3/4ths filled it up. Burned 1/4th of that.
Now I throw in a battery. It stumbles really hard and won't turn over. I can hear a few cylinders firing but not enough to turn over.
I've got 3/4ths of a tank and I am not sure what to do.
Should I remove the fuel lines and cycle the pump to get some gas out then add fresh gas into the mix? Or should I just add some fresh gasoline on top of the 3/4ths of a tank?

try spraying starter fluid in throttle body and see if it attemts to run.if it does then its fuel related.

I also have a question kinda related to this. My car is having problems with stumbling too or they call it surging and kinda cutting out, but mine will start and run just runs a little funny, well they told me I have water in my fuel tank but i'm wondering could that be my problem? I've tried adding lucas fuel system cleaner once and didn't help, just looking for some advice thank you.

Best thing to do is start your own thread. Tacking your problem onto someone else's is called "highjacking", and generally not a good idea.

Oh ok, I'm new to all this so I have no clue how this works. I don't even know how or really what a thread is, but I'll figure it out. There's probably a button somewhere to click to start a thread, I'll find it.

FYI: Lucas fuel system cleaner does not remove water or reconditions fuel..... It assist in cleaning and lubricating the system....
For water or old fuel, try a Isopropanol formula additive and/or SeaFoam....:)

To make your post (a single message) in this thread (the complete series of messages responding to Z28Wannab's initial post), you clicked on a button on the lower left corner of the page, "POST REPLY". Right next to that is a button "NEW THREAD". Start there.

Yeah I know but they told me to try cleaning my fuel system too, they told me all kinds of things. I've tried heet but someone told me that will just seperate the water from my gas but won't get the water out of my tank? I will probably just try the heet again I guess, I just don't know enough about cars (I'm a girl), I know some and can do some things on my own and I do, just too afraid to work on it really, I'm afraid I'll screw something up. I understand a lot of things about cars and how they work and stuff just I'm still learning right now.
