Cause I can't afford a whole paintjob transamws6_97 05-07-2009, 09:01 AM nope....i have the same problem on my hood. i had a rock come up and put a decent sized rock chip on my hood scoop and now the clear coat is peeling and its spreading like the plague. Just get the panel repainted Brangeta 05-09-2009, 11:37 PM Not positive, but I would assume a painter could sand the clear coat off in that area and spray some new on. It might not look perfect, but certainly better than without any work done. GoFast908Z 06-20-2009, 07:56 PM pull the bumper and drop it off to a shop. Get it done right. yy 06-20-2009, 11:10 PM I wet sanded the area smooth and then used 3M rubbing compound to bring the area back to a high luster. I then buffed the area and waxed it. You can't tell the difference. It takes a lot of effort but can be done. BTW, this was done on a black car so I don't know how the results will be for other colors. On these instructions, I did this on my girlfriend's car - it's a beige Civic and though I can't say it's totally invisible, I can say that it is much, MUCH better than before. I suppose if I had dedicated myself a bit more, I could have made it completely invisible.
