AZFBA Cruise to Florence & Drag Racing Saturday 03/21/2009

Cruise Itinerary:
Total cruise about 145 miles and approximately 3 hours 45 minutes (according to Google Maps)

12:00 noon - meet up at AZ Mills mall, mingle while everyone shows up.
12:30 pm - head out on cruise
4:00 pm - pull into In N Out for an early dinner
5:00 pm - depart from In N Out to Firebird Raceway.
5:30 pm - arrive Firebird Raceway for Saturday Night Drags.

Tentative route:
-Starting at AZ Mills mall on the northwest corner of the mall. Head out east on US60 to Florence Junction. At Florence Junction make a right to head south on SR 79. Continue on SR 79 into Florence to Butte Ave. Make a right turn on Butte Ave to head west to Main St. Make a left turn on Main St to head south and then making a slight right onto SR 287 (Florence Coolidge Hwy). Continue on SR 287 to Arizona Blvd making a left on Arizona Blvd and into Coolidge, AZ. Head south on SR 287/87 to Battaglia Rd. Make a right onto Battaglia Rd heading west. Continue on Battaglia Rd to Frontier St and make a slight right onto Frontier St (SR 84). Follow SR 84 into Casa Grande to SR 387 Pinal Ave. Make a right turn onto Pinal Ave/SR 387 heading north to Cottonwood Ln. Make a left turn at Cottonwood Ln/SR 238 and continue to follow SR 238 into Maricopa, AZ to SR 347/N Maricopa Rd/N John Wayne Pkwy. Turn right at AZ347 continuing onto Queen Creek Rd to I-10. Make a left turn onto I-10 to the Ray Rd Exit. Make a right turn onto Ray Rd heading east. In N Out is one half mile in on the NW corner of Ray Rd and Priest Dr.

-From In N Out we will take Priest Dr south making a right turn onto Ray Rd heading west to I-10. At I-10 we will make a left turn heading south to Wild Horse Pass Blvd. Make a right turn onto WHPB and quickly merge left to make a left turn on Maricopa Rd. Continue one half mile south on Maricopa Rd to the entrance to Firebird Raceway on the east side of the road. Enter, Pay, Tech, Race, Enjoy. :cool:

We do at least one event per month. The next cruise being on 4/25/09 out northwest of Phoenix.

Racing is $20, spectating is $10 for Firebird Friday and Saturday night drags.

Long shots sometimes happen too. :yes:

Well have fun tomorrow. I will definately be able to make the April cruise/drags.

It will be the first time I take the Z for a 1/4 mile run.

I'm getting anxious already!! Well as anxious as you can get to run high 13's or low 14's.

Dammit, I just read about your Apr 25th cruise and realized there will be no drags. When is the next time you guys will have a cruise/drag event??

Too bad you couldn't join us John, but maybe next time. Our next cruise is on April 25th out northwest of the Phoenix area.
