Twin 10" subs, what amp should I be using?

I have twin MTX Thunder 6000 subs in my car right now. They're 12ohm each. Really you're supposed to use them in a triad, but I'm only using 2 and only have room for 2.

Right now I'm powering them with an old as dirt Phoenix Gold XS2300, which is rated at 2 x 75W @ 4 ohms, 2 x 150W @ 2 ohms, or 1 x 300W @ 4 ohms bridge. Since my subs are 12ohm each I have them wired in parallel and have them running off the amp bridged. So I'm putting a 6ohm load on my amp right now, meaning each sub is each only getting less then 150 watts, I think 125 or so, I'm not doing the math!

I want to use a bigger amp, but not sure what I need. The subs are rated at 250 RMS, 500 Total. Keeping in mind that I'll be presenting the amp with a 6ohm load, what would you recommend?

I'm a noob at car stereo, I'm only a wiring expert :p

Rather than an a new amp I'd suggest new subs....

A pair of ED SQ10s (http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_21&products_id=106) would actually work well the amp you have, and I'm sure sound much much better;)

And that's probably cheaper than a new amp that still doesn't even meet the right ohm requirements:think:

Fix the problem right not by band-aiding the real issue:yes:

Amp ended up crapping out today anyway, I'm just going to do new subs and new amp.

Got a 1200 watt amp now, I'll run these 10's until they're dead then someday get something good.

Well I have the next model up and they rock;):D

Although I do admit these are pretty low on the food chain for subs, they were simply the only ED sub that would work with his current amp, and they were a cheap way to fix the issue. (My assumption is the the OP didn't want to spend $$)

To the OP: You may blow your new amp as well with the same subs, as you are not providing the amp with the right ohm ratings:think: I would really think about new subs pretty quickly;)

It's slightly less load on the amp, it's not going to hurt it.
