The car was ordered in Temecula California. The cars home is in Las Vegas.

I thought that was delayed like the Hurst short throw. Enjoy it. Arrange for some crowd control when it arrives.

So your getting the Automatic instead of the 6 speed manuel? You could have always ordered the manual and added the Hurst shifter at a later time.
Cool either way, I was just curious. :)

2010_5thgen 03-08-2009, 10:16 PM BS. i was at my dealer on october 13th at 8 in the morning and my damn order is still sitting at 1100. do we have any idea when those orders will be made? does it not meen anything if they were the first couple hundred, or thousand???

Dude hope its not BS. All I know is on Friday the dealer called and said allocation number is up. Went over the order, mentioned a contraint on the Hurst shifter. So I ordered the tap controls and he said that he will be placing the order and would get the car two and a half to three monthes.
Asked how many other SS were ordered and he said two and mine came up first.:yes::D

My order was pick up on March 5th by GM. My car will be here within 2 to 4 weeks from March 15th. I was the first ordered for a Camaro on Oct 13th at 8:18 am. I ordered 2SS/Black on Black with RS package.

oh and by the way the tap shift is called an automatic transmission. and the manual transmissioncan be ordered without the hurst shifter.

So my guy said next best thing is the TAPSHIFTER like on THE VET.

That wouldn't cut it for me. :no: I'd have taken the manual with the stock shifter if I couldn't have the Hurst rather than switching to an automatic with taps. :yuck:

Silverbullet02ss 03-09-2009, 11:18 AM Why is it that people always want to bash others for getting an automatic?!? I had to hear it for months after I got my 4th gen. Don't let them give you hell man. The tapshift is lots of fun and that's the whole point of getting the car. To have fun!!

Yeah, it just seemed odd to me. You order a stick, but can't get the
Hurst shifter so instead of just getting the stock shifter you change the
entire transmission. I don't follow that logic. To each his own I guess.

I think he's just messing around on this site. either that or he let his emotions get the best of him and didn't pay full attention to what the guy was telling him on the phone.

I have dealt with this dealer for over seven years. I have bought over twenty five fleet vechicles, dump trucks c7500, c4500, service vans, plumbing trucks and several personal trucks and cars. I think he is very reliable. Hell ya iam emotional this is my fourth CAMARO and its going to be bad ass. :eek::yes::yes::yes::lol:

The Hurst short throw is just a shifter. Assuming that is in fact not available, your options were:
1) Manual transmission, the same one you would have gotten, but with the stock shift lever.
2) Automatic transmission
Did you really switch to a completely different gearbox simply because you couldn't have the Hurst short throw shifter?
Just like on the Vette, there are two distinct gearboxes. One is a torque converter automatic six speed (that offers a "manual" shift mode of sorts, but no clutch pedal or anything). The other is a six speed manual, complete with clutch pedal and manual shift lever.
Speaking of the six speed auto, have they added rev-matching / throttle blipping on downshifts yet? Seems like I recall this on the CTS, but I don't know if the Vette (and upcoming Camaro) do this.
