I have a 93 z28 and picked up a 8 point roll bar.Does anyone know the correct mounting points and height location of side bars and the back cross bar?

8 point roll bar install?1slo93z 02-28-2009, 01:16 AM I have a 93 z28 and picked up a 8 point roll bar.Does anyone know the correct mounting points and height location of side bars and the back cross bar? n2ceptor 02-28-2009, 05:15 PM Check with Wolfe....:) http://www.wolferacecraft.com/install/fbod/fbody25-2cage.aspx Injuneer 03-01-2009, 12:16 PM NHRA requirements: -Hoop can not be more than 6" behind the driver's helmet. -Hoop must be at least 3" above driver's helmet (hard to do with a 4th Gen, and often not enforced) -Rear braces can not be attached more than 5" below top of hoop. -Side bar must pass the drivers arm midway between the shoulder and the elbow. -Crossbar and rear braces must be welded to hoop. -Swingout sidebars allowed, with correct hardware. -Crossbar height must be no more than 4" below driver's shoulders, and not above shoulders. -Cars without frame (e.g. 4th Gens) use 6" square, 1/8" thick plates on both the top and bottom of the floor, bolted through the floor with at leat four 3/8" bolts. -Alternatively, the hoop can be supported on a plate that is welded to the rocker sill. -Welding must be free of slag. -No grinding of welds is permitted. -Roll bar must be padded anywhere driver's helmet can make contact with it. -Padding must have a minimum of 1/4" compression, or meet SFI 45.1. http://www.injuneer.com/images/photos/Rollbar/DCP03794a.jpg 1slo93z 03-01-2009, 12:40 PM Thanks Fred for the info you are a definite asset to this web sight!!!! | ||
